Earthbound Trading Co. — Attraction in Asheville

I love this store! I live in Asheville NC. so there are plenty of local stores like this downtown. However, my son is 14 yrs old. He hangs out at the mall with his girlfriend, and her sister. I would not feel safe for them to be downtown alone without an adult. I totally understand how the manager could judge these kids. My son has long hair, his girlfriend wears all black, her sister had a book bag. This being said Earth bound is made for everyone. Its not a judgy place. Security was called on them. The manager had told security she knew they had stole something at a previous time. I'm not sure when. My son told her they had not been in the mall at that time. The manager got them band from the store. I guess for life? My son is a great person if the manager had started a conversation with,any of them, she would have saw they are good kids. I see from the other comments that this store is for judgy people. I will not be shopping here anymore. Instant karma is downtown. It's a local business with the same products. I will tell people to go there. It's sad that the reason I want the kids at the mall is because, I know there is security. Now these kids are labeled thieves at the mall. Maybe, its a good thing so security will watch them and they will be safer. I just have bad feelings about it. Also, if my son can't go in there neither am I, nor anyone I know. I want to preface this by saying Earthbound is my favorite store. I have been to multiple earthbound and they’ve all been great, expect for this one. First of all, the clothing section is limited. However, that is something I can get over. What I cannot get over is how the employees treat their customers. A younger girl hovered over me the entire store and came up to me 4 separate times. She invaded my personal space — i turned around and she was so close she was almost touching me. After dealing with that, I wanted to checkout immediately. I was then judged by the older lady by not buying a tote bag. I told her that I was traveling and while I usually do bring the bags I have already bought from here, I didn’t have one this time. She then made numerous comments about how “I should really bring my bag next time” in a judgmental tone and kept pushing for me to just...

I love the products and the style of this store, other than the overpriced jewelry that does not last. I got a ring from this place and it broke in the next 5 hours. One thing that really gets me is a specific employee that constantly hovers, and consistently violates my personal space while at the store. I've been going to this store for a while now and I never had any problems with the costumer service until she showed up. For example, today me and my friend were at this store not looking to buy anything, and she came up to us asking if we had heard about the sales for that time, not wanting to stay for very long I told her we were just browsing and she then replied aggressively clearing her throat dramatically and repeating what she had said in a hostile tone.
