The wooden ride off and the pump track out front were fun but Kolo has a 3 bears issue where the middle bear ran away. The easy bear stands by your ride off as I enjoyed experimenting with speed on a dirt jump bike.
The real dirt jumps though do not have beginner level lines. In fact heel to toe they range from 14 to 17 feet long and are made like all of the others with the severe rounded hip right before the transition on the landing.
I actually got more out of the BMX track at home but I also have a well lipped ramp jump which has a nice roll in and is by itself at home. It measures maybe 10 to 14 feet to the landing but that landing is much less tall than my ramp as I am just starting out.
Bryce mountain in Basye, Va understands how to make jumps beginners can do. And Big Creek in Roswell, Ga is also friendlier to beginners jump wise.
Don't set your kids loose on some of the trails. When they say blue they really mean it. I enjoyed them but they tested me somewhat and I mean bike skills wise on a full suspension bike. I like jumping out of the wooden berm.
I got my $19 worth. I will put more work into my own dirt jump at home. Barn burner now worries me more. I guess I will be stuck rolling it maybe or...
Read moreAwesome bicycling experience! Registration and sign in is made very easy after you give all the required information just one time. I bring my own bikes but they have a pretty good selection of rental bikes at fair prices for you to choose from. They have a nice selection of souvenirs to take home as well, t-shirts, stickers, water bottles, socks, etc. As for the bike riding aspect, there is something for riders of all skill levels! It has pump tracks, cross country trails, enduro trails with technical features, an obsticle course, and my personal favorite, the dirt jumps! Theres small tabletops, big table tops, and big gap jumps. You can learn to catch air here, or dial in your tricks on the big air jumps, nobody judges you here, just encouragement! I'm sure if anyone was causing problems or bullying the staff would promptly handle it. I also don't have to worry about my vehicle being robbed in the parking lot while I'm off in a different section of the park. I do wish it was a bit cheaper but for all you get its well worth it. Closest place to Andrews NC with public access dirt jumps. The whole park is pretty...
Read moreThis is a bike skills park and I assume it would be good for a family with young children but for an individual entering $25 a day too expensive for what you get (I feel like $10 -$15 a day would be better). I assume the bike park portion of this was more of an afterthought as the trails are a bit difficult to navigate and placement is Sporadic. Some drops do not have Landings that are properly built and one of them is a straight huck to flat (so be careful as it’s a larger one). It is $50 for a month pass which would be worth it to come and work on skinnies, small drops, and several dirt jumps several times throughout the month. But if you are in the area for only a few days and looking for mtb specific trails, there are better options and trails. This is more like a dirt jump/bmx vibe.
Everything is space apart a bit oddly and the trail system through is not too apparent.
The pump track is nice but small. Dirt jumps are nice though though it’s a shorter track (4 jumps in a row and then...
