This is by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. I almost thought I was on a reality TV show and the host was going to jump out from the corner and give me my real food. I ordered from here Xmas day so I wanted to give them some slack but the food was so bad I had to leave a review. The pu pu platter for two was disgusting. It was like it was left out 2 days ago and re-heated up in a microwave except the taste of old dirty oil overpowered everything. The pork was a fried piece of fat, no meat. The chicken on a stick (was it suppose to be teriyaki?) was super dry and hard. The dumplings was completely overcooked and rubbery, could barely bite into it. The general TSO was the only barely edible thing after throwing out the pu pu platter. Pork fried rice had nothing in it besides rice.

Been eating here since I moved to Asheville and it’s always delicious and the people who run is are always so nice! They have the best veggie fried rice in town for a vegan- there’s no egg. It’s also clearly made over high heat in the wok bc the flavor is so specific and the veggies have a good char to their edges (Waaaaaay better than oriental pavilion’s fried rice, which tastes and looks like instant brown rice). Their general tso tofu is my fav order- fried pieces of tofu without breading/starch make for a nice chewy texture and a very flavorful sauce (tho a little thin when really hot). Wish list for this place would be veggie pot stickers and more meat free entrees like the tso tofu.

I ordered both a lunch combo, and a special combo, and chose for the rice to be pork fried rice. There was nothing in the rice, no pork or even onions, peas, carrots, bits of egg, just nothing. It was just plain fried rice. Only positive from my orders was that the shrimp in the lobster sauce were properly cleaned shrimp. Haven't eaten here in years, but after having ordered from here once more, I can say I won't be doing so again.

I brought lunch to my friend that just got home from a lengthy hospital stay. He insisted on New 1 China because they have the best chicken wings in the city 🍗. They are whole fried chicken wings unlike most places that use wingettes and drumettes. He also got shrimp egg foo young and egg rolls. He thinks the egg rolls are handmade but isn’t sure, they aren’t his favorite and he was wondering why he ordered them 🥚. I tried some of his steamed rice with the gravy to see if I may want to order from there in the future- I was pleasantly surprised! The gravy is a little sweet and a lotta savory, it’s really good. He said the egg foo young here is consistently good which is why he eats here so often. Prices weren’t bad and you can order online at beyond menu which makes pickup fast and cashless 💵. I asked him what rating should I give them and he said 4.5 stars but since it’s no 1/2 marks then 4 is suffice. If they improve the egg rolls and make non yellow fried rice he would give them 5...

I’ve always given this place high reviews but the last order has me so disappointed. I placed order online for the “healthy version” of shrimp with vegetables and added/paid for extra shrimp. Usually this is no problem and worth every penny. This time, however, I received a container packed w mostly broccoli (I’m not even able to consume that much) and a total of THREE shrimp.

To pay $13 for a bowl of broccoli was more than frustrating. We live too far out to go back and make right, so we decided not to order from there any time soon.

This is disappointing because they have always done a great job especially when I was going through medical matters requiring a very strict diet. They always made my orders exactly as requested & I always expressed deepest gratitude for their accommodations.

New China One you have always been my favorite and I’ve recommended you to so many people, I’m hoping this was an isolated incident and you can...
