I would like to start off saying that I was beside myself with hurt for my daughter. My daughter was off work and her sisters and myself (mother) we a day to look at wedding dresses.
We stopped at Lara's at noon and was treated horrible. They were rude, not helpful at all. They said in order to look we needed an appointment. I understand that. We ask when the next available appointment was. The girl said they had an appointment coming in at 1:00 p.m. so that was an hour away. They were extremely hesistant about helping. The girl said with a huffy tone...well you might have time to try on a few. So I said okay when is your next available appointment. She said 3:00p.m. We said great no problem. We will grab lunch, do some shopping and come back at 3:00. I kid you not, the girl then looked at us with a blah, whatever, stuck up attitude and said , well we have another appointment at 4:00. So you won't have much time to try much. She had just said they had an appointment available at 3:00 p.m. apparently she thought we wouldn't wait and take it. Mind you no one was in the store but us, it was noon, she said she had an appointment at 1:00 p.m. an hour away. We ask about some dresses. Instead of helping she pointed over toward some dresses and said the ones on sale are on that rack. No help, they weren't doing anything, treated us like trash. My daughter who was looking to buy a wedding dress that day was heart broken, distraught. It ruined her day. We ended up calling Dave's Bridal Shop in Charleston, West Virginia. They were friendly and so helpful on the phone. We drove there. The girl we spoke with on the phone was the same girl who helped us. Dave's Bridal Shop was amazing, wide range of wedding dresses, extremely helpful. My daughter bought a beautiful wedding gown. The gown needed some minor alterations and they did the alterations while we were there. They even apologized for how Lara's treated my daughter. I would not recommend...
Read moreWe were initially so excited that there was an awesome selection in my daughters size as compared to our local prom store. Found a dress earrings, and shoes (that were the display pair) put them in layaway with half down. While there my daughter was initially interested in the blinged out boots, to match her dress but they did not have her size in the color she wanted. Went back a few weeks later to pick up the items thinking that although the boots were higher in price we would try to see if they had her size and get them instead of the wedges. WRONG! Although mind you, they were the DISPLAY pair we were told not only by the girl taking our money that there were no returns or exchanges. Me: You mean to tell me that these shoes, of which HAVE NEVER LEFT THIS STORE CANNOT BE TRADED UP FOR THE MORE EXPENSIVE BOOTS? At this point I am getting pretty upset. In asking to speak to the owner, (who might I add is rude and arrogant), I truly could not believe she felt she had every right to force us to take the shoes we originally chose. After I shockingly looked at her and said "are you serious" "the shoes have not even left this store or been paid for, and the boots are more expensive, so how is it you will not consider the exchange?" Her reply is if I pay her a 20% RESTOCKING FEE of our purchase. This is not only bad business, but totally poor customer service. Not only is the jewelry, and shoes way over priced, but her policy and rudeness is way out of line. WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN, and certainly discourage any one we know in doing business...
Read moreI went to Lara's to purchase a wedding dress for my upcoming wedding. The try on and buying experience was not magical, but that was not really a huge concern for me. I purchased my dress, that needed alterations that I was aware of upon purchasing. The needed alterations were discussed at the time of purchase and I was told this could be done by Lara's for me, once the dress was paid off. I was unable to recieve a quote that day for the alterations due to a seamstress not currently being there. I called in later that week, explained what I needed and was given a price quote for ordering the corset back and for the alterations. At this point I was again told they would be ordering the required materials, as this was included in my price quote. After paying off my dress, I called to order/schedule the alterations. I was told today they will not order the piece for me and to just order it off Amazon. When I looked up what I was told to look up there was multiple different options, which I have no clue which would be the correct option, as I am not a seamstress and have never altered a wedding dress. After much discussion and being told multiple time to order it off Amazon, I have decided it would be better to go to another store to have my alterations completed, where I can hope for better resolution for my needs. I feel as though after paying for a dress from a store that is supposed to be a bridal store I should not have to guess and purchase the required materials for my alterations...
