Bob Evans — Restaurant in Ashland

Bob himself, would not eat at his own restaurants if he could taste it now. We ate at this location yesterday and if I were a critic the place would be closed down. We started off with sweetened Ice tea but what we got was soured undrinkable waste. She brought us rolls that had dried out and were so hard one could hammer a nail with them. I ordered the 1 piece grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and a side fruit bowl. She brought me fruit that looked like it had been cut a week ago and the cantaloupe was mushy and discolored. Now lets talk about the chicken, a piece of dried out RE heated piece of leather, NO juice whatsoever. For years I have substituted one side for a side salad, well no more ( thanks headless, brainless corporate ) for making stupid decisions to continue to run customers off. So my daughter eats what she could of her food while I wait for a new plate of food to come out as I'm starving. My new plate of food arrives and I get to eat it while my daughter sets and waits because she is done. So much for eating together ! The restaurant carpet STINKS, you can see the ground in dirt, and good luck getting greeted quickly or checked out quickly, this is one of the worst customer friendly greeting Bob Evans I've been in . Give it up people, just close the doors, lock the key and toss the food to the hogs because your restaurant isn't any better than slop to the pigs. You get a two thumbs down and sad barfing face. Were it not for the service, the score would be much lower. Our waitress was very attentive and professional. The few people who there dining as well she clearly knew as regulars and took care of quite efficiently. We never had to flag her down or ask for refills as she seemed to know what we wanted before we did! If only everything else was up to the same standard. Walking in me and my partner both noticed a weird smell in the air. It was very off-putting, but we were so hungry and in a small time crunch. Most of the issues were not noticable at first, it was after we had ordered that we realized our mistake. The ceiling tiles had water damage (probably the source of the smell), most of the tables were waiting to be cleaned (our waitress was the only one we saw in the dining room the whole time and had her hands full with serving us and the other tables), food was not up to par with what I have seen/tasted at other locations, and the restrooms were not the cleanest. All in all most of the issues stemmed from the building itself, NOT the workers. The whole place gave off a "run down" atmosphere that did not make for a comfortable dining experience. I do not think we will return to that...

I had to change my review of this place because we had another experience here just the other day, and it wasn't a good kind of experience. When we got there we were seated pretty fast. When we were seated the waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. It took about 5 minutes to get the drinks, in which is pretty slow just to get drinks. Then they asked us what we wanted to eat. After they left we were in for a wait. It took about 20 minutes just to get the food. And during that time she didn't even come back to check on us and let alone not even do so much as ask us if we wanted refills. After we got the food I asked for a refill. The waiter ran off and forgot that I wanted a refill.Then, a big group of people from a nursing home came in and they had at least 1 or 2 tables made for a big group available but they put a lot of small tables together right beside our booth.
