ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum

ScienceWorks was one of our favorite places to go. However, it has really changed since the last time we have been there. The exhibits are dated and a portion of the exhibits appear to have been removed. What was there held my children's interest for about 30 minutes. Not a good return on the $27.50 it cost for us to get in. I also did not appreciate that on the day we were there, they were busy decorating for a very adult event that was going to be held that evening. The advertising for the event was right when you walked in and it was not appropriate for children. I did not appreciate having to explain to my children what burlesque meant. A children's museum is just not an appropriate venue for a very adult event, even if it is after hours. Why would any self respecting adult want to attend that event in a children's museum? It is wrong on many levels. Needless to say, we did not renew our pass this time and will not be coming back, which is unfortunate because safe engaging places for children are few and far in between in this area.
