2 stars for the food, the Lemon Ricotta French toast and Sourdough pancakes were pretty good. However we won't be returning, and I'll explain why. After we first got seated after about a 20 minute wait (and there's also no parking anywhere aside from 6 spots) we took 2 available spots at the bar. Shortly after we sat down, one of the workers (I'm not sure if this was one of the owners, but he was working the floor and the register) walked by me, grabbed my hot tea that I brought in, without saying a word, and chucked it in the garbage. At this point, I wasn't sure if it was an accident, or intentional, but I said "excuse me, that was my drink". When I finally got his attention, he looked over and was like "oh, well we don't allow any outside drinks". Which is understandable, but it's extremely rude to grab anything that belongs to a customer without saying anything. Also, there's no signage anywhere saying this. He could have easily said "Hey we don't allow any outside beverages" which would have been fine and I would have taken it back to the car. Anyway, I proceed to ask him to grab my drink back out because he was like "Oh you still want it?" Like bro, this drink was still full. Anyhow there was no apology, which makes me think he either did it intentionally or absentmindedly and didn't want to admit any fault. This should be customer service 101, you don't grab anything from a customer without asking. So for this reason alone, we won't be returning and in all honesty, we probably should have walked out of the restaurant. But we had already waited 20 minutes and didn't want to bother finding another place. But the staff could use a lesson in treating customers better.

After a day of walking around, seeing the sights of Ashland OR, you tend to wake up hungry the next morning. We were told to try The Morning Glory Cafe, in the town. Arrived on a Thursday mid morning. Quick tip - parking in the back of the restaurant is limited! Anyway, went inside and we could tell this place deserved the praise it was getting. The smells of coffee, panckakes, omelets - wow, made us even more hungry! We were greeted pretty quickly and after a short 10 min wait, got a nice table outside. Our server gave us some menus and quickly took our “drink” order - a latte for my wife and a nice homemade Chai tea for me. They were a bit busy (to be expected) and after a little while give our order - which was difficult. They have so many unusual and tasty items - very hard to choose! We went with 2 House Specialties - Huevos Rancheros and the Sourdough Sandwich. The Hueovos was a big plate with a black bean mix, some corn tortillas, 2 over easy eggs covered in a saucy pico de gallo and melted cheese. The flavors were great - not overpowering but deep taste. The black beans combined with that sauce stole the show! The Sourdough Sandwich was tasty. A few fried eggs, some nice ham, a thick slice of tomato and melted cheddar cheese. Ir was good. The side that came with it was great! Creamy Au Gratin potatoes made with Gruyère cheese! We could have made a meal of those ;-) Next time (and we will be back) - we will try the pancakes and an omelet - the all sounded great and in looking at other tables - looked fantastic. Highly recommended!

The place was nice enough, though it did feel like "quirky" was a little over done. The staff were friendly, though not overly attentive (no quality check after getting our meal, for instance). The food was definitely below par, unfortunately. I had the omelette with applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onion and fontina. Normally lots of fillings is a good thing, but there was at least twice as much filling as egg, and unfortunately it was so gaggingly sweet that I couldn't eat it. - I had to take out about 2/3 of it before it was even vaguely palatable. The fontina was sort of a melted blob in a corner of the omelette rather than being distributed evenly. I'm sure there was bacon in there as well, but I couldn't taste anything other than sugary onion. It was incredibly greasy to boot. All that being said, I suspect that they fry the onions with sugar rather than actually caramelize them, given the sweetness and blackness of them - it was more like onion jam. I also had the homemade muffin, which had nice blueberries and orange glaze, but it definitely wasn't a traditional muffin - the consistency was much more like that of a pancake than anything else. My husband's egg sandwich on a croissant was similarly underwhelming. It was a crescent roll rather than a croissant, ugh, and it was soggy and squashed flat. He had asked for the home made sausage patty instead of black forest ham, and it had way too much fennel. The dishes are unfortunately just too greasy and completely unbalanced, and the results are just not good.

My recent visit to Morning Glory Restaurant left me deeply disappointed and dissatisfied with the overall dining experience. Upon arrival, my party and I were promptly greeted and told we would be seated in approximately 45 minutes, but that is where the positive aspects of our experience ended. As we eagerly awaited our meals, an entire hour passed with no sign of our food. The server, seemingly ignoring our table, made no effort to check in or inform us about the delay.

When we eventually inquired at the front desk about the status of our order since our server had disappeared the response we received was far from satisfactory. Instead of offering a genuine apology for the delay, a staff member casually brushed off our concerns by attributing the issue to the restaurant being unexpectedly seated with multiple tables at once. This excuse, although possibly valid, did not excuse the lack of communication or basic customer service.

To make matters worse, when our food finally arrived, we discovered that one of the dishes we had ordered was completely forgtten. Additionally, the food that was served to us was disappointingly cold, burned, and lacked the expected quality. The flavors were lackluster, and it was evident that the dishes had been neglected before reaching our table.

The overall experience at Morning Glory was nothing short of a letdown. The excessively long wait, the waiter's neglect, the lack of apology, the forgotten dish, and the subpar quality of the food were all factors that contributed to a thoroughly disappointing meal. We wasted our time and $90+. We...
