This company has been an absolute NIGHTMARE to work with. I could write a novel about the horrible experience we have had with Remodel Republic. I would encourage you to do your research prior to doing business with this company.
We originally reached out in late July and entered into an agreement on 8/11/21 to remodel our master bathroom. We had an estimate that outlined all of the projects and we were promised by Dwain, the sales manager, that everything we wanted was covered, there would be no additional up-charges and guaranteed that the project would be completed by Thanksgiving. Once we wrote the first check for over $17,000 everything changed. We worked with the designer Devi to pick out our title, cabinets, fixtures, etc. Over the next couple of weeks, several materials that we picked out were now “above our allowance” and would cost more. We were forced to make secondary selections which also somehow turned out to be “above our allowance” for some items. We over-compromised in too many areas.
Despite the promise of being done by Thanksgiving, work didn’t start until 11/11/21. We were told time and time again the project was 4 to 6 weeks in length, but closer to 4 weeks. We have since blown through 4 promised completion dates. As of today, 1/29/22, we are still weeks away from being done. For a project of this size to have taken as long as it has demonstrates the very inept ability of this company to complete projects.
Our project has felt like an afterthought this entire time. The countless workers that have been hired and fired during our project have told us that they have other jobs that were a higher priority than ours. We were promised that there would be an onsite project manager, Ian, who only showed up one time. We have been left to interact with the workers. There was a particular issue where a worker was fired by the company over the phone while he was in our house. The worker then confronted us because the company told him that we were the reason he was fired. We should have never been put in that situation. Communication with Remodel Republic, especially internal communication with the various people we have talked to, has been lacking. Lots of finger pointing and nobody stepping up to make things right.
Now the quality of work. Overall, it felt that when each part of the project was “completed” it really wasn’t. Nothing ever seemed to be done correctly the first time which led to this project dragging on. It felt as if we always had to bring the things that were installed poorly to their attention. If we didn't bring them up, they wouldn't get fixed. As an example, the floor tile was laid incorrectly and is uneven in 8 spots. We alerted Remodel Republic over 6 weeks ago of this safety concern and it still has not been corrected - though they do say it will be fixed at some point. Multiple teams have come out to fix the mistakes and workmanship of the other teams.
There’s also a handful of little things. We have also found handfuls of screws, splinters of our glass tiles and shards from the metal trim pieces throughout our garage and driveway on numerous occasions. Our clothes are covered in drywall dust because they never put up plastic to protect our closet as agreed upon. The work has taken so long that the dumpster left a long time ago. This has resulted in numerous large trash bags and buckets of trash just left on the side of our house by all of the workers. They do not respect our home.
Bottom-line, I would be very careful if you do choose to use this company. Make sure EVERY little detail is spelled out in the contract or they may try and come back for additional change requests. We are still not done with our project and things are starting to look better and more finished. However, for the price we paid there should not be this many issues and while small extensions to deadlines are expected, our project has been dragging on from bad workmanship, lack of concern from Remodel Republic, sheer incompetence, and just simply poor service. We would NOT RECOMMEND this...
Read moreOur experience with Remodel Republic was outstanding from start to finish. Becky, Wade & Celson were a dream team to work with! My husband and I popped into the showroom one day just to get a feel for ideas and materials for a kitchen renovation. Becky immediately impressed us with her eye for design, and we could see in the showroom that we would be able to choose from a huge variety of design elements and finishes. Becky came to my house to get measurements and see our current kitchen layout. I showed her inspo photos and described the limitations and frustrations I had w my current layout. Becky was able to take all of that info and turn it into my dream kitchen. She fixed all the issues I had (lack of storage, small prep area, small cabinets, inadequate pantry size, poor layout functionally) and she also gave me the exact aesthetic I was looking for. I get overwhelmed w design decisions, and she helped me pick light fixtures and paint colors too. Wade was our project manager and is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He communicated every step of the project with me and was always available for questions or quickly returned my calls. He is trustworthy, honest, and reliable. Wade worked directly with my flooring company to coordinate schedules, and my floor company said he was by far the easiest contractor she has ever worked with. Celson was the lead contractor on site, and he & his team do exceptional quality work. His team worked so fast and put in hours and hours a day to finish on time. We were given a timeline of about 8-10 weeks, but I prepared myself mentally for 12+ based on previous renovations w other contractors. They finished right on time at about 8-9 weeks. I was so impressed. We had delayed renovating our kitchen for years bc we were afraid of how inconvenient it would be, but it honestly wasn’t bad at all. And it was totally worth it! Our house feels like a whole new house! We have more cabinets than before but it feels so much bigger bc of the new layout. I feel so happy every day I walk into our new kitchen. Remodel Republic showed up pretty much daily to ensure they would finish on time, even working weekends on occasion. They were very understanding about my big dogs, and always texted me when they arrived so the dogs could be locked up. I trusted the entire team to be in my home when I was out of town or just gone all day. We have a couple more projects in mind and absolutely will use Remodel Republic again. If you want a full service team that handles design and remodeling, honest and hard working designers and contractors, look no further! Remodel Republic is the BEST, I can’t wait to work with Becky, Wade & Celson...
Read moreThe whole experience working with this company was awful to get our basement finished. We signed the contract and paid a 40% deposit in April 2021. The project was not completed until Jan 2022. We have seen whole houses in our neighborhood built in the same timeframe! The delay had nothing to do with the "lumbar shortages" or "supply chain issues," as they would like to claim, but instead had to do with the complete incompetence of its staff and the owner. The ONLY reason that this project was even completed 10 months later is because WE were the ones who were constantly pushing the company to order items, including doors, counters, cabinets, windows, flooring, etc. Despite constant emails, texts, and phone calls from us, items were not ordered for literally months which was the only reason that this project took almost one year to complete. The only thing the company was timely with was cashing our checks within 24 hrs of receiving them. Many of the workers complained to us about the company's poor communication, lack of organization, and the owner not paying them. The company staff were very unprofessional, being late for appointments and losing our file (multiple times). For example, we made an appointment early in the process to select cabinets, tiles, flooring, etc. and Dwain made us wait 40 minutes until he met with us, while we had to rearrange our busy schedules to secure the appointment. He would often lose our cabinet/tile/floor selections due to being completely unorganized and generally incompetent. We luckily kept a record of these selections and had to send him our selections no less than 5 times because he had lost them and would delay ordering the items. If we hadn't thought to keep track of these items (which the company should be the ones responsible), we would have had to restart the selection process all over, further delaying progress.
We are shocked to see any positive reviews online given how globally poor of a job this company did. In fact, some of the reviews are recognizable as staff who are actually employed by the owner. We typically don't ever write reviews, but we felt that it was important that other customers have fair warning before signing a contract and forking over tens of thousands of dollars to...
