This rating would be higher however, to get that would mean making some additions to the mall. Please let me explain.
The first thing is that the shops that are there are pretty good honestly. General mall faire of 1 restaurant, 1 shoe shop, 1 book store / toy shop, 1 game store, 1 perfume shop, Spencer's.
Here's where the but comes in. The mall is mostly motorcycle / small vehicle storage such as golf carts and such. If they were all moved out of there and businesses allowed in such as an electronic store would improve the local community. The area DOES NOT have a place to get computer parts / electrical components such as resisters and transistors. For the DIY community it'd be awesome. Also to liven up the place it needs to have events! Something to draw people in rather than storage that makes it feel like we're invading on a storage unit.
Ratings: Shops: 9/10 [Most are well staffed but small in size] Atmosphere: 1/10 [hasn't been updated in a long time and in some areas feels dirty by proxy] Staff: 0/10 Understaffed

Read moreI visiting the Crystal Incantation store and bought some polished and unpolished stones. There a vast variety with a wide price range. The shop owner is very knowledgeable, helpful and nice; she'll help you with pretty much anything you need. I just wish that when you bought the crystals, you would get some type of informational card for it with a picture showing which crystal/stone is which instead of just a pamphlet with a large number of stones and their properties without a description of the stone itself. But given the large quantity of crystals/stones/fossils in her shop, I understand why she uses the pamphlet with the names and what they're good for instead of individual cards with a picture on it, that could get pricey. So just a side note, try to label which stones are which somehow so that once you leave the store you will know which is which. Other than that, there's a lot of empty space in the auburn mall and the hours vary, so call ahead of time to ensure they're going to be open before just heading...
Read moreI'm seeing a lot of complaints about not enough huge chain stores, and I get that, but this mall has some locally owned gems that shouldn't be ignored. The level of support and service from the locally owned shops in here makes up for the lack of huge corporate chains by fair. Thatcher's is a staple, if you need perfume Glamour Us is your spot, Family Time is a blast and very reasonably priced. Game Zone, Collectibles Forever, and Auburn Raceway cater to some niches that desperately needed attention in the area, and Photo Finish provides the family portraits, Easter Bunny and Santa visits and so much more! I think it's really cool that there is a mall so dedicated to growing local business instead of just catering to...
