Wednesday April 16th we had to dressers delivered to our home. The delivery team dropped them in the home and left and did not wait for us to open them to see if there was any damages. Upon opening them we noticed both dressers have damages and are covered in dirt. We called corporate and I spoke someone who said that āthe store dominated the purchaseā and we need to take it up with the store.
Upon going to the store we spoke to the Manager, Alexis. She came out of her office sighing, had her blouse open to where you could see her cleavage, and her hands down her pants. I then said hi Iām Payton are you the manager and extended my hand to shake her hand. She then said āyeah Iām Alexisā and shook my hand. When we explained to her what happened she kept repeating āIām Floridaā as if that was supposed to be intimidate us. She then refused to talk to me and would only speak to my fiancĆ©. I stepped aside and called corporate again where I spoke to another woman who heard the verbal abuse and disrespect portrayed by the management. Some of the following were comments by the manager (Alexis): 1. You paid $600 for two dressers thatās not bad, i have ikea furniture in my home and itās not great furniture itās similar to this furniture what did you expect for $600. 2. I can give you a credit, my fiance then said well you need to talk to her because her parents bought it as a housewarming gift for us, she looked me up and down, i said i donāt want to a credit if this is how Iām going to be treated Iād rather return the items get my money back and be done, she then rolled her eyes and shooed my off as if i was unimportant to her. 3. She told us she didnāt have time to help us because she has to get on a call. 4. She said infront of a store of people, sheās wasting her time talking to corporate Iām just trying to help you and rolled her eyes at my fiancĆ©. 5. We told her we would bring the furniture back to the store in the boxes and we could dispute the charges with Amex and she said, you go head and try that i have Amex too and Iāll make sure you still get charged. Mind you our furniture we received is unusable the drawers for the dresser are broken! We canāt use it but she wants to keep our $600? That may not seem like a lot of money to you but as two military personnel who donāt make a lot of money that is a lot of money. The women on the phone from corporate who heard all this then asked for her name and told us to leave and they would take care of us. So we left. Never got a call back from corporate or a supervisor to handle the issue.
Next day Thursday, we are still dealing with this issue I talk to Shamika and she tells me they are going to get this handled and call me back with return info. I get a text three hours later claiming they canāt return the products but they will deliver new products. That is not what we want. After the way we have been treated and disrespected I want the products out of my home and my money returned and we can go separate ways. I call the number back for corporate and try to tell them that an exchange is not what me and Shamika discussed and i donāt want that. Someone named Cameron answers and refuses to patch me Shamika and gives me this email instead to write a complaint. Iām applauded at the fact that this is how Ashely runs their business. There should be no reason why at this point with everything weāve been put through that I canāt return the damaged items you sent me and get my money back. We purchased from the Ashley Furniture store located in Augusta Ga on Wrightsboro Rd. What we got was damaged and stained products. The fabric on the 3 of chairs looked plucked and there were stains one of the seats. They placed the table backwards and did not set up the shelved on the the display cabinet. The display cabinet shelves has damage to the color and what looks like white paint stains on the surface. The display cabinet also has 3 dented areas where you can clearly see damage to the wood. Not to mention the whole cabinet is wobbly. This is EGREGIOUS! I have never in my life seen such unprofessional service. I was not at home when they delivered however when I got home I immediately reported the issues we had with the items. They assured me that they would have a special team come out to replace the seat cushions and fix the display cabinet today between 9:30- 12:30 today. The driver called shortly after 9am and stated that he could not find our home . I gave him specifics directions and he stated he would be here shortly. With in the same hour 2 other people called and stated the driver could not find my home.I gave them the same directions and they stated that they would help guide the driver to our home. The directions were simple and there are signs everywhere with our subdivision name on them. You cannot miss it. At 1215 I called to find out where the driver was and was told they would follow up and call me back. 1 pm no call and at this point Im highly upset and I call Ashley Furniture to speak with the manager. These people are very unconcerned and simply are not in tune with customer satisfaction and ensuring that Ashley furniture provides quality service. They called the driver and was told by the driver that he tried to reach out to me but was not able to get a hold of me.I despise a liar and the that the fact that they believed him. At that point the relationship to me is fractured and there is absolutely no way I would let a bold face unprofessional liar enter my home. I do not recommend this company. If you want damaged product and unprofessional service then this company is for you. They outsource their deliveries to companies not affiliated with them and the drivers have clear language barriers. I work as a nurse and I speak with patients from many language backgrounds and I know when a patient does not understand English. Thatās why we use interpreters. The drivers are Hispanic and after talking with them extensively I felt like the simply did not understand me. But what I cant understand is how Ashely Furniture is not concerned about the delivery in their merchandise by these drivers/delivery companies and are not sending a team from the store to inspect these deliveries/items if there is a complaint to ensure quality service. I expect undamaged brand new items not what to me looks like used furniture. And if you delivered the furniture how is it you still cant find my home 3 days later. Never again will I purchase or recommend Ashley furniture. They only compensated us $270 and a bunch of uncaring apologies for our troubles which is unbelievable! You can keep your apologies. If your really are in tuned and LISTENING to your customers you will do what it takes to make it right. We work hard for our money and make sure you get paid for the product you sell. And no it wasnāt black smh. Then a man greets me, his name was Joseph. I tell him about my mission. He takes me straight to the two black sofa sets they have. Nice but they just werenāt doing it for me. Then I ask Joseph can we double back to the set in the front. It was a gorgeous caramel and cognac color. We sit and talk and do some numbers. I literally go back and forth in conversation with Joseph, myself, my friend and my grandmother. All the while Joseph is patiently waiting for me. At this point Iām sure he can tell Iām indecisive. Then I tell him my real dilemma. Iām being gifted a set but with a budget. Once I finally decide to get the set and in what combination. We again crunch the numbers. Mind you the store was already having a sale but I need all the discounts, all of āem. We are a good hour and thirty minutes in at this point. I noticed the prices online and in the store are different. Joseph explains to me why this sometimes happens and that he is able to give me the better of the two prices. Sweet. Next issue is making it appear Iāve stayed on budget. Joseph had a work around for that too. He set up a partial payment for me. Then I could pay the rest myself. This is where Joseph becomes a saint. The process of trying to get my grandparents to pay by following a emailed link. Lol. Thatās whole process took 20 minutes itself. But he was able to find a solution for that as well. At this point Iāve taken up just about 2 hours of Josephās time and he has the same cheerful demeanor. Great conversation. Great customer service. Great salesman. Heās just a nice person in general. I didnāt end up getting the card as I told Joseph I like to live on cash right now.
