The Clearing Savannah Rapids — Attraction in Augusta

The clearing is a quiet little spot. There were a few other people there relaxing under the shade of the many trees there, amazing views of the Savannah River to the South Carolina border. There is a bathroom located right there as well. The walk to get here is very easy, pretty much flat all the way and easy to access with bicycles.

Great kayak launch site for the canal or even better the shoals of the Savannah river. Ride them all the way down to Hammonds Ferry boat ramp in North Augusta. Always a great day trip, just make sure the river level is up or you're in for quite a bumpy ride snaking around the rocks. Love this trip and we try to do this one at Least once every couple months.
