This experience was horrible almost from start to finish. The only good part was the interaction at the refreshment counter. The fountain drink machines were all spitting foam making it impossible to fill the cup. I ended up with a mix of Coke, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke and Cole Zero just to get enough soda to fill a medium cup. I tried three different machines with the same results. Stopped in the bathroom before heading to the theater. It was disgusting. The vinyl on my seat was completely gone. The buttons for reclining the seat were worn through so the backlight under the button was shining bright like a flashlight. Management was in the theater repeatedly through the movie as it appeared there was an issue with people sitting in the wrong seats. I was glad to see management dealing with this but while they were in the theater they could have done something about all the cell phone use. I have never been in a theater where so many people had their cell phones out constantly. It wasn't checking messages. It was out constantly. There were even guests taking flash photography selfies during the movie. I used the bathroom after the movie and they were as disgusting as they were 2 1/2 hours prior. I tried to refill my fountain drink again and the machines were still spitting foam.
One of the worst theater experiences of my 50+ year life. I usually go to a GTC theater elsewhere in town where the bathroom has always been clean, the refreshments function, and the disturbances are dealt with by attentive and present management which tells me the issues at this theater are most...
Read moreHad the worst experience here tonight. The kiosks were all down so the employees were handling everything manually. There were people in our assigned seats when we got into the theater and the movie had already started. We noticed their tickets had the same seat number. I went to the customer service desk and tried to explain the situation to which an employee responded that the manager HAS to go check the tickets. I made it clear that I was not trying to continue disrupting the movie, I wanted to see what my other options were and potentially get a refund because at this point, we’re missing a lot of the movie! But once again this person insisted this was the process! Okay. So the manager comes back out with the person who was in our seats. Turns out, they were there on the WRONG DAY!! Smh. Anyways, I told the guy I don’t want those seats now… At this point it’s been like 30 minutes and I’ve missed too much of the movie (mind you I tried to avoid all of this!) He proceeds to catch an attitude with me saying I should have said that and complaining about how he went and got this couple out of their seats… although I’m the one being inconvenienced because those were in my MY SEATS! I was offered the next available movie but of course there were no available seats. All of this to say I am a loyal paying customer to riverwatch cinemas and I was extremely inconvenienced tonight and somehow made to feel like it was my fault. I hope that other couple enjoyed...
Read moreMildly disappointed in several ways, especially considering the cost spent here. First off,we bought tickets online, but when we arrived there was no explanation on what to do. The ticket kiosk is a self-standing station with no humans around, and no explanation of what to do if you have already purchased your tickets, just a prompt to buy tickets. We stood pressing buttons, confused and searching for a long time, as did the family of 5 next to us in the same situation. The ticket takers are 20 feet away at least, at the back of the area, just standing and talking to each other, not offering any assistance when all the people entering are CLEARLY unsure of what to do. There should definitely be someone up by the kiosk, instead of multiple people standing together at the ticket taking station, doing zero besides waiting for people to figure out the process so they can scan your tickets. My other issue was the $10 tub of popcorn which went to waste because it was teetering on stale. Normally the popcorn is our favorite part of the experience. This time I will say the best part of the experience is the reclining chairs, they were very comfortable, and being able to reserve seats ahead of time is a nice touch. Had we not been 20 minutes late getting into our seats because of the kiosk fiasco it would have been a much nicer time, so my advice to newcomers is definitely come early so you can figure it all out, because there is not...
