Nick's was the first garden center I found when I moved out here a few years back and I was amazed by the selection they had, but unfortunately I haven't had the space to build a garden until this year. I do not live close by and there are closer garden centers to me but I went out of my way to go here yesterday because of how I remembered it. I was NOT disappointed to say the least. All the plants looked very healthy and happy, so many varieties of so many different plants that it is overwhelming. I started grabbing everything in site. They were extremely busy and I felt bad to bother anyone but I some questions. I didn't have to wait long for someone and I didn't know exactly what I wanted to ask yet he came up, asked me a few questions on what I am trying to do, and answered my question quickly without me actually asking. I got the answer I needed and I let them move on. I read the recent negative reviews on here before going in and could tell they were non sense people so it did not deter me from going. I hate seeing people use the "pandemic" as a reason for the negative review. They are working extremely hard to have an amazing selection during a very odd time, to provide us with what we need, they were all masked and very friendly trying to help everyone. Unfortunately they are tight isles due to SUCH AN AMAZING SELECTION so social distancing is a difficult thing which should be on US the shopper MORE then the employees. We all seemed to manage the best we could with no issues (Thursday when I was there). Like I said, it was extremely busy so do not be mad if they can't tell you over the phone what varieties of certain plants they have, when you see in person the vast selection they have you will realize how annoying that question is. The workers are there to help people IN FRONT of them, have a little respect and use your own time to go look. Do not waste the employee and shoppers time tying them up. That is all, Thank you everyone at Nick's Garden, I will always go here and recommend you for any gardening needs I have and will be back sunday to get a bunch of soil to finish up my garden, I will post pictures...
Read moreI have been buying more than I care to admit from Nick's for years , I always knew prices were let's say somewhat inflated, but I didn't realize just how ridiculously inflated things were until last week when I bought some rubber mulch along with numerous other items at the same time , I was I a hurry and didn't think to look at receipt until the next day, yea my own fault for not paying attention, now keep in mind the mulch that I am talking about if you buy it anywhere else and I do mean anywhere. It runs between $6 and $7 a bag if it's not on sale. I bought 10 bags from Nick's, and when I looked at the receipt realized they charged me $14 a bag for it or a few pennies under that anyway. I called up and talked to someone at the store and asked them why they charged me more than double for mulch that cost $6 or $7 a bag anywhere else in the city or any other city you go buy it, his response was if you don't like it, bring it back. Maybe the manager will refund you the money. Sadly, I'd already spread the mulch so bringing it back was not an option. He was quite rude about it and didn't seem to have any problem with the fact that they're charging me basically 100% markup assuming they wouldn't bought it at Walmart themselves instead of having it delivered and getting it at cost, which is more than likely what they did. So they're probably charging 175% markup on the bags of mulch. Absolute highway robbery. I will never shop here again which saddens me greatly because I love this place. They have such a great selection so as long as you don't mind paying double what you should for everything. I guess you should go shop here. Goodbye Nick's. I put up with a lot of stuff but I won't put up with being made to feel like I'm a sucker for trusting you without looking ahead of time at the receipts and cost of every...
Read moreI purchased multiple plants from nicks for the first time I'd ever done and they were gorgeous and beautiful but way overpriced! I hadn't even had a chance to plant them in the ground when we had a horrible hail storm and I had no time to get those plants secured and the most expensive plants that I purchased were ruined. On the back of the receipt there is a warranty to return one plant at least once a year to get a full refund or another plant so I went to next to get a refund or trade out for a new plant because they can have a chance for those plants to grow back and look beautiful and sell them later in the season but I won't get to enjoy them at my home after spending such a great deal of money. Upon speaking with the manager Sam, he was rude patronizing, and spoke down to me pretending that I didn't know about science and how plants worked. He told me that I was being ridiculous for not allowing them to be planted and shamed me for not having gotten them into the ground quicker when I had purchased them the day before the hail storm. He kept switching his story and telling me he would give me half off both the plants and then changed his mind eradically and gave me half off of one plant. Instead of explaining to me that he was going to give me half off a plant and not let me keep my plants. He just give me half off in a coupon so when I assumed that it was a coupon for me to use and I could keep my plants he disagreed and then made me feel mocked in front of other people and when I walked away saying no, thank you, he spoke about me badly in front of other people. Horrible management skills, he did not care about how I felt when I know that a company this size has much insurance for these plants and I don't. I don't wanna shop at Nicks in...
