Upon arriving at the theater today I realized that the tickets I had purchased were for two days before, so I bought two tickets on my phone with my wife and I's A-list accounts for the show that was about to start. My wife purchased a ticket at the counter for our son. We hoped we could find three seats together even though the app did not show them available because the heat was out in the theater with the outside temps well below freezing (We had prepared for this because of previous issues at this theater). We found three seats together in the front row but 25 minutes into the film an employee named * came up and asked for my ticket. Their attitude made it seem like we were being accused of not having tickets at all. They were stunned for several seconds when I produced the ticket for the seat I was sitting in. After a long pause they said it was my son that was in someone else's seat. So I let him have my seat and moved to an empty seat nearby that was still in sight because my son was going to be concerned I had to move. I wanted him to be able to see me to calm him. He has only been to the theater a few times. I want to be clear up to this point; I am not upset even though * was being very rude. I do not mind moving if someone is insisting to sit in the seats they have purchased. About 5 minutes after I move to an obviously empty seat nearby, so I can see my son and again it is over 25 minutes into the film. The employee named * that has asked us to move already comes over to me to offer something to try to make up for their rudeness. I ask them to not bother me because I am trying to watch the movie but they will not go away without saying a long speech. I guess, they have determined it must be said even though this is keeping me and numerous people from watching the film and I keep motioning and saying go away. It felt like they were on a power trip because my dismissal of their offer must have peeved them at this time they went to get a manager that then came and told me I was in someone's seat and had to move again. I asked if there was someone waiting to come to this seat, what is now 30 minutes into the movie, and was told yes. I then moved to the actual seat I had purchased for my son so I could at least finish watching the film unmolested. I spoke to the manager that asked me to move the second time after tbe movie, they declined to give their name, and was told they were informed I was in someone's seat and needed to move by *. This was false, no one was asking to sit where I had moved, they just chose this moment to be petty because I would not listen to their spiel about free passes which I do not need because I have A-list. Well at least I did and so did my wife but this and numerous other issues have made it easy to cancel today and never come back to an AMC. I have seldom complained in the years I have had A-list (all the years it has existed) though I'll include a list here of issues I have had at AMC in that time. Consider this a parting gift. Most of the chairs do not recline, the theaters are often poorly cleaned, the screens are so dirty you can see it easily, ever increasing prices on Freestyle drinks that taste like garbage, rude/disinterested employees, projection issues from out of focus to blue lines across the screen. Alamo may cost slightly more but I'll be glad to give them my money because whenever I visit their theaters I have no issues, just the experience for...
Read moreSince Friday 6/16/2023, I have visited the Barton Creek Mall Location 3 times. My first visit on the 16th as a Father's Day gift was disappointing due to cleanliness, lack of customer service, stale popcorn, and out of stock/unprepared concessions. My second visit on the 18th as a Father's Day gift was disappointing due to cleanliness and lack of customer service. On both days, I observed at least 7 employees behind the counter engaging in conversation amongst themselves, not providing customer service while the line of customers stood and waited. Cleanliness of the drink station was disgusting due to only 2 of the 4 drink machines operating properly on the left side of the theater. My third visit on the 19th is my reason for this review. I brought my oldest son and youngest daughter to see Spider-Man. While they were observing the movie, I decided to inquire about employment. I asked a young lady who the manager was on duty, and she directed me to the front counter. When I approached the counter, a gentleman hiding behind the counter gave me a strange look like I was bothering him. I asked him a couple of questions about how to go about applying to this location and if he could write some of this information down for me. That's when he gave me attitude like I was bothering him and got rude with me about asking him if he could write down this information. I proceeded to ask him for his name, and he refused to identify himself. I told him if he was actually the manager, that surely he could identify himself due to being management. After going back and forth with him, Andy finally identified himself, and I told him that I would be notifying corporate about his actions. He gave a rude remark and stated, "Go ahead and tell them as I was exiting the theater." I would like to address Andy for making my visit horrible and embarrassing due to his actions as Management. If this is how ridiculous management conducted themselves, then maybe that explains why the theater was lacking in its services and cleanliness.
You can add broken seat K9 in Dolby Cinema and Burned popcorn to today's disappointment. Couldn't show with full bucket so I dumped it out so you can see all the black burned kernels 6/12/25. Seat was stuck in one position. Management gave us another seat but it wasn't near the...
Read moreI’ve always had a really great experience at this theater, especially when they finally updated on the recliner seats. Unfortunately there is one thing I can’t look past, which is (to me) a big deal. I had the opportunity to take my grandmother to the theater who is wheel chair bound. The bathrooms in this theater (neat theater 6) specifically the stalls in the women’s restroom marked for the “handicapped” are NOT wheel chair friendly - to be frank the bathrooms are not wheel chair friendly in general. It’s a very narrow corridor with a row of stalls side by side. Those marked with the handicapped sign seem no bigger than those not marked with one. If you are wheelchair bound, or travel with someone who is expect a major fuss when it comes to the restrooms. The stalls are too small for wheelchairs so the person in the wheel chair HAS to get up out of the wheel chair to even enter the stall. Not a big deal considering they would do that normally, except for the fact that they now leave their wheel chair just sitting outside the stall while they use the restroom and have to fuss with the door while going in and out the stall back into the chair - i was worried the whole time my grandmother would slip while she tried to transition herself. Next was the bathroom itself was SO cramped, there was barely enough space for people to get by because she couldn’t take the wheel chair into the stall with her. I’m not talking about an electric wheel chair either, so this thing wasn’t bulky. Lastly the sinks were too high. I had to hold her up in order for her to wash her hands at the sink because she couldn’t do it while sitting in her chair, again another hazard. Maybe there is a better equipped bathroom in this theater for handicapped, but i did not see one, and if there was, they shouldn’t have marked the stalls in this bathroom handicapped friendly. I never had to go through an experience like that while traveling with my grandmother, even in small restaurants their bathrooms are better than that. I’m surprised a giant chain theater had such poor accommodations and in the bathroom none the less. You’d think those things would be...
