Sarku Japan — Restaurant in Austin

First time at this establishment. I'm a visitor from san antonio. While there I ordered the chicken & shrimp. Bill $12 & change. I have a son with a seafood allergy, so I requested a separate plate for the shrimp (my son & I normally share food). The chef then suggested he place the shrimp at the top of the lid. I again requested the shrimp be apart from the chicken as I have a son with a food allergy. The chef then said I should have told him at the beginning of the order because now he has to go back to the register to get another tray. I apologized but was still continuously chastised for my mistake. I was also not aware that the forks were at the beginning of the line. So I placed my food down and went back to get a fork. I passed the same chef who was telling other customers about the incident, as if ridiculing me. He definitely looked a little embarrassed to see me. I dropped my fork and didn't even feel comfortable to go back to get another. Needless to say, I will not include this...

So I had this teriyaki chicken a few weeks ago and all I could think about was going back because of how good the food was. My husband loves asian food but I really have to be in the mood for it and decided I'd try some of his!!! Good choice. Went back yesterday and it was just as I remembered. I love that you can see them cooking your food right in front of you and there is always a line but so worth it. Out of the whole food court this restaurant has THE LONGEST LINES.... but trust me when I say worth every minute lol. We get the chicken teriyaki steamed rice with extra sauce yummmm😋 haven't been disappointed yet. I haven't experienced issues with staff. Great experience and Delicious food!! I came here with my family and all were very happy when we left! There was a very long line, but that was expected as this food is really good! You definitely get what you pay for as far as portion, taste, and definitely worth the wait! Based on all the reviews here, it can be a hit or miss depending on what days you go on, but I've never had a negative experience here. Costumer service never fails as they're always courteous! Come with time, expect there to be a line, be respectful to the employees, and there's no reason why you should have a negative experience!
