Very refreshing change of pace from the widespread Tex Mex cuisine here in Austin. The food was great and the servers were extremely friendly and helpful. The margs were fantastic!! Definitely was feeling some type of way after only 2. I did really enjoy this place but I have two main gripes: one, they ostensibly make their own tortillas (as seen in the window where I think you can watch them doing so) but the tortillas definitely don’t taste homemade… like they were fine, but if their supposed to be homemade I expect them to taste as such. Secondly, and this might just be something very specific to my own taste, but the lighting inside here is terrible…. I sat at the bar and there is zero light at the bar. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want more light, I’d want more atmospheric, soft, warm light to heighten the ambiance and make me want to come back and just hang at the bar and have a drink (which I definitely would do since I live literally right upstairs) but the harsh, fluorescent overhead light makes it extremely uninviting (this is true not just for the bar but the main dining room and the outdoor patio, terrible lighting everywhere). Anyway, still really enjoyed coming down here for the residents night, but I must admit I’d only come back for the food when I wish I could say I’d come back for the ambiance. Good job though to everyone working hard at the...
Read moreI selected this place for my graduation dinner. This was A BAD DECISION. To start off I made a reservation for 15 people and I was not asked if I wanted to be seated inside or outside. They seat my party outside, the weather was not scorching hot so I moved on. The bad experience started with our server Itzel. I had to remind her a few times of what I needed since she would forget. When the food came we asked the server a few questions about our entrees to which she responded condescending and rude. I was not even listening yet to the words she was saying but her facial expression and her body language were extremely INAPPROPRIATE. We let the manager know our concerns and as we were speaking to her Itzel stood next to the manager and listened to everything she was saying basically ready to jump in and the manager showed little concern for our comments. She was still tipped her 20% on her terrible service. People like her should not work in customer service. The food was okay the fajitas were pretty mid but everything else enchiladas, taco plate was okay. Even with the most amazing food with terrible customer service your customers will not return like myself. I had been to the location in cedar park and had a great experience and I thought it would be okay but basically the servers rudeness got in the way of my...

These are the Breakfast Enchiladas, my favorite Brunch menu item at Santa Catarina - Cherrywood, and a contender for my favorite breakfast plate overall!
Enchiladas de pollo verde, coated in a smoky red salsa, and topped by perfectly cooked sunny side up egg, accompanied by frijoles negros as well as chunky red potatoes accentuated with black pepper and queso fresco.
The enchiladas are K.I.L.L.E.R., and when drenched in the egg yolk, they just dance on your tastebuds. The frijoles and the potatoes add robustness to the plate, are cooked to perfection, and the slightly toasted cheese on the potatoes provides a unique spark of flavor to make the dish truly special.
The plate comes with home made steaming fresh corn tortillas which are really handy to gather up all the deliciousness off the plate, as licking it off, no matter how tempering, would likely be frowned upon. As a healthy dessert, the order comes with freshly cut fruit, at the perfect ripeness.
All is served in a clean and welcoming atmosphere, with attentive service, a friendly smile, and pleasant conversation.
A true delight of a Sunday Brunch. Poetry on a Plate… and...
