One of Austin's true gems for recreational pleasure in Austin and although it's right near the busy fast moving streets leading in and out of the city center Deep Eddy hasn't changed much at all in the 20 plus years I've lived in Austin. Much like Barton Springs the water is so chilly and refreshing on a roasting hot day in the summer. A dip in the deep eddy pool which is primarily for lap swimming will leave you feeling cooled down for hours after you get out, provides that you don't take a hot shower afterwards, which is an option at deep eddy with 4 outdoor showers in both men's and women's dressing areas which are outdoor dressing areas. 5$ dollar charge is next to nothing to pay for such a great service. Even just to shower if you don't have one is accessable for a 5$ charge during regular hours. Located just off MoPac west side of...

I will update this if the deep end opens again. I looked at their website to make sure I was prepared for a good pool day, but the website never mentioned that the deep side of DEEP Eddy was shut down due to a pump malfunction. I think that should have been mentioned so I knew before driving an hour to the pool.

The area was so nice, though. Super clean, and lots of shaded space for lounging poolside. Just make sure to bring a blanket or chairs because there's only ground space for seating.

The water was so cool and clear. We all loved it, especially my daughters. The pool is also rather large, so there's plenty of room to move about, even when it gets busy. I will go back, and I would give 5 stars if the deep part were open (or if I was at least warned via the website...

5 stars for natural spring water would be enough to say, but the pool and park are well maintained. recently renovated changing/shower area, which is partially an outdoor (very green) area gives fun of an outdoor shower experience, and that's a plus too. $3 for adults, $1 for kids and seniors is very reasonable price to even have a 30min deep (during lunch break for example).

If you're planning a swim with kids, I would recommend this place in the late afternoon, after 4 when then sun sets behind the big trees on the west side of the pool, which gives very nice shade over shallow water of kids pool. even on the hottest day at 5pm you won't feel hot there - kids pool is a zero entry kind, so you can just sit in the water and watch your...

This pool is deep in the heart of Austin and is a beautiful location, certainly something to check from your bucket list whether being local or visiting. You have a lap pool and a children's shallower pool, it also a well fed pool so no chlorine or any other chemicals are used and water is changed every day. It an Austin classic, you can visit and read about the pool history at a mural on site. Ice cones and convenient food is served at the entrance where there are tables to sit and eat. The rest of the pool does not allow any food or beverages except water. Enjoy the shade of great pecan trees and oaks, opens daily. There are restrooms and changing rooms on site.

I’ve been coming to Deep Eddy since I was a kid, and it’s still one of the best spots in Austin. It’s historic, simple, and real—no gimmicks, just cold, spring-fed water and a peaceful vibe. From November to early March, it’s free to swim, which is huge. The water’s cold, but in a way that wakes you up and clears your head. It’s clean, refreshing, and perfect for laps or a quick dip. There’s plenty of space to sun, chill, or read on the grass, and the crowd’s always a good mix. No chaos—just people doing their thing. If you want a quiet, grounding swim in a place that’s been part of Austin forever, Deep Eddy delivers. Every time.

Great outdoor pool! Looking to stay cool while in Austin? Go visit this wonderful space. The price is right and the water is so clear and cold. You are allowed to bring food, however, you will need to eat it in designated areas, you are only allowed to take water out into the grass area where people lay out. There is a small snack shop located on the property, which does offer regular/veggie hotdogs, chips,Empanadas, Drinks, and Ice cream. Parking is at a premium, you may have to find parking down the street.
