One of Austin's true gems for recreational pleasure in Austin and although it's right near the busy fast moving streets leading in and out of the city center Deep Eddy hasn't changed much at all in the 20 plus years I've lived in Austin. Much like Barton Springs the water is so chilly and refreshing on a roasting hot day in the summer. A dip in the deep eddy pool which is primarily for lap swimming will leave you feeling cooled down for hours after you get out, provides that you don't take a hot shower afterwards, which is an option at deep eddy with 4 outdoor showers in both men's and women's dressing areas which are outdoor dressing areas. 5$ dollar charge is next to nothing to pay for such a great service. Even just to shower if you don't have one is accessable for a 5$ charge during regular hours. Located just off MoPac west side of...

The water was so cool and clear. We all loved it, especially my daughters. The pool is also rather large, so there's plenty of room to move about, even when it gets busy. I will go back, and I would give 5 stars if the deep part were open (or if I was at least warned via the website...

If you're planning a swim with kids, I would recommend this place in the late afternoon, after 4 when then sun sets behind the big trees on the west side of the pool, which gives very nice shade over shallow water of kids pool. even on the hottest day at 5pm you won't feel hot there - kids pool is a zero entry kind, so you can just sit in the water and watch your...
