ThunderCloud Subs — Restaurant in Austin

Let me start off by saying I LOVE Thundercloud in general. Been countless times. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to this location though because, well, there’s always been one closer to me wherever in ATX that I live. I ordered online. Was going to be in the area. I chose a time like 35(!) minutes from placing the order. I rushed there because I was kind of in a time crunch but got there about 4 mins late. I guess it didn’t matter because my sandwich was over 15 minutes late. Told them my name and he said they’re working on it. Waited 12 more minutes. People came and went from actual walk-ins. Same guy asked my name again finally. Then said it had been ready a couple minutes or something and they didn’t know (even though I talked to him? Lol). When I got the sandwich, my nada chicken was basically diced (never seen it that way) and they reeeeally globbed the mayo on. Hah. So…was definitely falling apart and had a ton of lettuce too. In general the sandwiches are always good when I go other locations. This was definitely in the worst 3 times. Yeesh. Might as well not even order online if you’re in a hurry because walk-ins will get their food first. And I saw like 5 people behind the smaller counter. One sweeping. Surely one person can be designated for to-go orders while 4(?) people work on...

I usually go to this location, because it's awesome - cookies are fresh, line is quick, and sandwiches are made correctly. However, recently ventured out to location off E. Riverside, and had two club sandwiches both made all wrong - like, the core ingredients of the sandwich were wrong - and didn't realize it til I got home. So, I sent some feedback on their website, and quickly got a response from them apologizing and offering a make-up meal, which came with a handwritten note in the mail a few days later. Rather than post a bad review of the other location, I wanted to leave a positive review of the Lake Austin location and the company as a whole because they are amazing, and definitely try hard to keep their...

Thundercloud in general is AWESOME. But in this location, the vibe is very wrong. Today while I was waiting to be served, someone who I assume is the manager called an employee out at full volume and chewed him out with customers around, clearly humiliating him. It wasn't even about an urgent matter, like health or safety.

Regardless of whether the manager was right, it was EXTREMELY unprofessional and should have been handled later or on the side. The front of the store got really quiet as the manager continued to go about her business with palpable anger, so I assume this is business as usual for this store.

Again, great food! My club was delicious. Just go to the S Lamar location instead--the workers there...
