Being a member is like any other low cost fitness club membership. Until you try and cancel. I cancelled 2 memberships in March and they only processed one. So I got billed for one membership in April and didn't notice until I got billed again in May. So I went back into the club and spoke with staff who during our conversation, said it was all taken care of. It wasn't. I got billed again in June. So I went back in and was told that the person saw the issue and I would be all set going forward. He said I had no active accounts. I got billed again in July so I went in to tell them to remove my bank account from all accounts so I would not get billed. The ladies looked at my accounts and said they couldn't do anything and I had to call Corp FC. So I called and they said I had to go into the gym physically to take care of the issue. Rather than go in, I called them. They once again assured me that they resolved the issue and I would not get billed. In August, I was billed again. So I called the gym and asked to speak to a Manager and I got Max. He said he found an account that was still active. He said he would make sure that it got cancelled and that he would speak to the manager, Darius. I asked Max if someone could follow up and call me back. He said they would. They didn't. I called back a couple days later and the Asst Manager told me Darius had to take care of this issue and that he was busy but they would have him call me. He never called. Because they now acknowledged that I still had an active account, I figured they would take care of it and someone would let me know about a refund for the months I was billed. Nope. They billed me again in Sept. I called them again and one of the staff said the managers were busy but he could help me. He immediately found the account that I was being billed for and said it was still active. He said he would cancel the account immediately to stop the billing and I could call Corp FC for the refund. He added notes to let them know it was their error. I called Corp FC, which is terrible. Very long wait times and even longer hold times. After over an hour on the phone, I hung up realizing they were not coming back on the line. I got a voicemail later from them saying they would not issue a refund because I just canceled in Sept. I called them the next morning and they said they could not do anything because the club made the errors and they did not document anything in my accounts. All my visits, my phone calls, actually being there to cancel the account, they blamed the club and said that's all. So, I called the gym and actually spoke to Darius. Just like everyone else in this organization, he said he believed me, but there was nothing he could do. He said he just came back to the club because they had to change management. Staff and others there said they had similar issues with other Customers. They all blame others and no one is willing to step up, say we screwed up, and take responsibility. When I told Darius someone needed to take responsibility he just said he wasn't taking responsibility for what previous people did. This poor leadership permeates through this organization. There is too much competition in the market to put up with the way Fitness Connection treats people. Go to Planet Fitness, Crunch Fitness, or any other fitness club, but avoid this...
Read moreI have been a member since before this gym opened its doors and have had to deal with the sauna not being opened for 6 months then when Covid hit they closed the sauna again. Also I was promised a 24/7 gym that's why l left 24hr fitness but that seems to be never happening again I work two jobs and I'm a single father this has been a nightmare for me because I lost over 85 lbs but I'm unable to make it in the gym during the operational hours now so l have become unhealthy hopefully this gym will care again about the promises made to the members that have been loyal since day one. I have contacted club management all the way up to corporate level with no help or answer to when the gym will be 24/7 or at least open at 3am so I can get a workout before I go to work the rest of the day. Please if you have it in your heart to open up earlier so I can be a positive role model in my son's life again showing him that our health is very important. I have found multiple gyms that use key fobs to access the gym during off peak hours it’s sad that fitness connection does not really care about it’s clients to open the hours that were promised to us all so we can be connected to fitness again🙏 it’s getting really crowded even at 5am please open up at 3 am or update your ability to access the gym with key fobs or the app 🙏
The only good thing about this gym is the staff the 5 am brotha is always on time and friendly he is a true blessing to this gym community. So here is a shout out to Travis may his dream of becoming a 24 hr gym come true soon 💪🏽
Dear Fitness Connection Team,
Thank you for your response and for providing a contact to continue this conversation. I am reaching out because this issue means a great deal to me and many other long-time members who trusted in the original promise of a 24-hour facility.
As someone who joined this location before it even opened, I’ve stayed loyal through the highs and lows—including long sauna closures and the disruptions from COVID-19. But the hardest part for me now is that I can no longer access the gym during its current limited hours. As a single father working two jobs, the only time I can consistently make it in is before 4 AM. That window used to be my lifeline, helping me lose over 85 lbs and become a healthier version of myself—for me and for my son.
I’m deeply asking you to please consider reopening earlier—ideally at 3 AM—or to explore key fob/app-based entry systems for responsible, low-traffic access during off-peak hours. Many gyms across the country have adopted similar models with great success, allowing members to stay on track with their health goals safely and securely.
It’s painful to feel like we’ve moved further from the community and promises that made Fitness Connection special. I want to believe in this gym again. I want to continue being a healthy role model for my child. And I truly believe that with a bit of flexibility, this gym can rise to meet those original values and support those of us who depend on...
Read moreI signed up on the 4th of July for a promotion that they had, I canceled the next day. Due to receiving a job with another fitness entity, I did not have to pay for a membership there so therefore I canceled this one. I spoke with the representative at this location who said she was the manager, she seemed friendly, she seemed nice however, I woke up this morning to being told that I'm having to still pay $18 for a membership that I canceled. I've called the front desk on multiple occasions and no one's answered. I canceled the other location that they have off of tech ridge and I was told that a manager would get back with me. Meanwhile, there should already be someone on staff that can tell me why the membership wasn't canceled. I'm already going back and forth in circles, this is my third time trying to give this gym a chance. The first time I worked for them and after I ended up parting from the company they put $300 plus dollars worth of charges on my account when the membership should have been free, I tried the gym again about a year and a half ago and they did the same thing as far as charging the account. Now this time I've officially canceled the account and receive notice of the account and they're still trying to charge and make me responsible for something that I should not be responsible for. This fitness gym /company tends to move unethically, they tend to not keep their word, they tend to add charges that should not be there, they also choose to not operate with proper customer service ethics. This company believes that if they make a mistake, you still have to be responsible for it, this company also once again does not keep their word. Even after you cancel and they send you an email. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would not recommend this gym be used by anyone. I would actually recommend that all members that have this gym closed their memberships and move to another option. Yes I get that. It's affordable and I get that. It would seem to be the best option for some. However, due to the level of customer service, and the amount of scamming that happens behind the scenes, I would recommend you and your family keep your bank accounts and pocket safe because clearly even after you have documentation that a membership is canceled and you spoken with the membership, they feel you still should pay for something you don't want...
