My daughter and I came into the James Avery store at Barton Creek Mall in Austin Saturday February 23, 2019. When we entered the store I made direct eye contact with a female Hispanic employee. She then leaned over and said something to another employee and they chuckled and ignored us. About 2 minutes after we entered the store a Hispanic couple entered the store and the same employee that ignored me and my daughter greeted the couple " HI welcome to James Avery is there anything I can help you find". After they walked in a white couple walked in and they also were immediately greeted and helped. At this point I am extremely upset and quite frankly appalled. One of the other employees saw the frustration on my face and asked if I needed help and I said yes I did and that I was there before the other customers and should have already been assisted. I decided to leave the store because clearly they did not want my money but I decided to go back in and ask for the corporate office phone number. Once I asked for the number the employee went to the back and the manager came out to assist me. I told her what had happened and how upset this made my daughter who received her first James Avery ring for Christmas and the purpose for us coming into the store was because she wanted another ring. She gave the typical I am sorry I will speak to the rep and then she offered her assistance. I went ahead and purchased the ring my daughter wanted but I will be returning it because as we left the store I felt horrible that the manager had not done more! She told me she was going to give me her district managers number but instead she gave me the customer service number. Read moreI’ve been coming to James Avery since I was little. I have never had a staff member ask for my number to have my account pulled up before even bringing out the item I want to try on. Tina is extremely rude every time I’ve been to this location. Last time I came in the supervisor gave me a gift card for 50 because I expressed how rude Tina was. Same thing happened this time. And Tina told the other staff member to stop complementing me because I expressed Tina is rude everyone I’m in. She’s clearly prejudice towards mixed raced people. I can’t believe she’s allowed to be so rude. I only go to the great hills location. They’re nice every single time and know me by name and make everytime I go in very fun and welcoming. Tina seems very bothered to be at her job. I tell everyone to not even bother with this location...
