We purchased new glasses here. We went home with our new glasses and then later, realized that we did not get the top of the line lenses we had asked for, but a less expensive thicker plastic that I found unsatisfactory. There are a lot of halos around lights and visual distortion, especially at night with these lenses. I called today to see how to go about correcting this. I was told by the manager, Jorge, that all he could do was replace the lenses in my glasses with the higher quality ones,the ones we had originally requested, at an additional cost of over $1200 due to it being over the 30 day and they used our insurance on the original lenses. This is needless to say, very disappointing. I would have happily paid for the better lenses that we requested upfront when my insurance was covering most of the cost. Now I must wait for a year until I can get new lenses next summer with my insurance coverage. I am being penalized for their employee’s mistake. I don’t really feel this is fair or a good way to retain customers. We will shop elsewhere next time.
UPDATE:
I responded to the link below, filled out the Customer Care form citing my issues on their website. I was given a reference number and told someone would respond within five days. It is now been 10 days and I have not received a response either by email or by cell phone. I filled out the form again today. We will see what happens but so far I would lower from one star to zero if possible.
It’s been almost 3 weeks, but they did come through for me. I received a call from the store manager and after explaining the situation they offered to replace my lenses for free! Took my glasses in yesterday and within about 45 minutes they had replaced the lenses with the new higher quality clear lenses I had originally requested. Read moreI had been coming to LensCrafters at Barton Springs every year from 2019-January 2024. It wasn’t until I went somewhere else (Lone Star Eye) that I realized that LensCrafters at Barton Springs does the eye exam with an unreliable old-school process.
With how advanced technology has become, there are other places that can do a more thorough job without all the discomfort, like the anticipation of waiting for a spray of liquid to shoot into your eyes and getting your eyes diluted.
I’ve seen the optometrist, Joseph Saavedra when I couldn’t preferably book an appointment with Timothy Wright. Joseph Saavedra must have been having an off day because he made a face when I asked a question. I guess, he thought I asked a stupid question but it shouldn’t have mattered. That experience has made an impression on me and I haven’t returned since.
The LensCrafters store where you purchase your frames next door has a high turnaround rate of employees, which expresses that the company must have a low-morale atmosphere. I’ve worked with some good opticians and some bad ones that made it obvious it was their first week.

I am a daily glasses wearer so I am okay with spending a little bit extra on glasses. Lenscrafters provides high end brands of glasses, I enjoy looking through their selection! To me I notice a difference in the lenses of my glasses when I purchase with Lenscrafters. You can tell they are quality made! Lenscrafters also offer different lens options like "blue light lenses" for when you are using computers/cell phones. The turn around time was SOOO fast, Naomi informed me that my glasses would take about 2 weeks (regular turn around time) for my glasses to be done. I went into Lenscrafters on 2/14/19 thursday evening (6:30pm), the weekend came and not to mention it was also Presidents Day the following Monday.
