I wish I found this place sooner! It took me a long time to find a place that has amazing staff, dental hygienists, and a fantastic orthodontist.
The staff is very kind and will go above and beyond to help you! I always felt welcomed, and I could tell that my needs truly matter. Excellent customer service! They even have a hypoallergenic emotional support animal, Pete, that is there to make your day brighter! Pete is a special touch and a real asset to have around. I couldn't stop talking about him for days!
The dental hygienist I had left my teeth feeling spotless! During the cleaning the dental hygienist was very kind, thoroughly cleaned my teeth, and took the time to listen to any questions and/or concerns.
Dr. Baik is fantastic! She is extremely smart, well educated in her field, has a big heart, and will above any beyond to help you in anyway possible. She helped to diagnose a problem I had been having for two years, while my primary care doctor and former dentist disregarded my pain, Dr. Baik listened and literally found the root of the problem! She took immediate action, and I felt like the number one priority the entire time. Now for the first time in two years, my mouth is pain free! During the procedure she listened to my concerns, explained the process, what was going to happen, and narrated while it was happening. I fully understood my options and any possible risks.
Something else that I found rare in a dental office, but extremely important, is this office will support pre-dental students with their educational goals. As someone who values community outreach/volunteering, I think this is really cool, and it demonstrates the positive impact this office is making on a larger scale! Bravo!!
Everyone here is extremely nice, thoughtful, compassionate, and makes you their number one priority. Great establishment to go to for your...
Read moreI want to say that I am not a dental expert so please take my review with a grain of salt. I have never left a negative review on any place before- I just can’t stop thinking about what happened when I went here and I wish I had been aware of what might happen.
I recently saw my old dentist about 2 months ago (who I trust - she’s been with me and my family for like 40 years, she’s even my grandma’s dentist) and they told me my teeth were fine, maybe one back tooth that needed to be watched and flossed/brushed well. Then I moved cities so needed a new dentist in Austin. Came here because the reviews seemed solid but now some of them seem like they might be written be ChatGPT idk.
Basically they did a ton of x rays even though I said multiple times I didn’t really want x rays this time. Then they said based on those x-rays that I had THREE full cavities and that we should do procedure on them in two weeks. I was so confused but I trusted them so we scheduled the appointment. Something didn’t feel right about it so I asked my old dentist for a second opinion (on the new x-rays). After looking, she told me very firmly that I did NOT have any cavities and that I “absolutely should not do anything to those teeth.”
The dental assistant at Smile Haus was so kind and gentle and I had a lovely time talking to her. Dentist was nice too. But I just cannot trust coming here anymore. I feel really weird even leaving this review honestly but I would feel guilty if this were happening to other people too. So I guess - come to Smile Haus if you want, just be ready to get a second option!
I’ve heard of this happening with other dental and doctor offices once they are owned by someone other than an actual dentist/doctor - it...
Read moreMaintenance dental care is fine, work provided was appropriate and well done but watch out for pushy Invisalign sales when not asked for or warranted. I had been with this practice for several years (and had never had Invisalign brought up by myself, a dentist or hygienist, ever) and had a few days of TMJ pain so I went in for a consult and a mouthguard fitting. I did not get a proper consult on this issue and instead was heavily pushed to purchase a $5000 “solution” of Invisalign which includes a lifetime retainer commitment all for this new acute issue that Invisalign has no guarantee of resolving. And my teeth are very straight and do not need Invisalign. I was very frustrated with this experience. I called back to order the mouthguard and they claimed they didn’t have the appropriate scan for that and I’d have to return for another appointment. Because of this experience I have decided to leave the practice. Very frustrating.
I found an office to provide me with a helpful consult on my TMJ pain and symptoms and received a reasonable and appropriately conservative treatment plan including a mouthguard (priced better I’d note). They also informed me that Invisalign would not help with TMJ but would rather only disguise the issue temporarily. They explained options for TMJ pain which Smile Haus did not even touch upon with me. That conversation almost immediately went to Invisalign and the dentist spent probably 20 min trying to sell me on it. They just make a big...
