Terrible service! I only gave it 1 star because that’s the only way I could write a review otherwise I would not give any stars at all. My daughter and I went there last night around 9pm and we sat down. It was not busy at all and there were only 2 other tables being served. The waiter (also manager) came to the table and we wanted to order takeout and a beer for me to drink as we were going to wait 20min for the food to be ready. Then he mumbled something to us at the table that we didn’t understand and then quickly left. After waiting for menus, he never came back, but passed by another nearby table so we asked him if we could finally order and he said we could not order from the table if it was takeout and that we had to go to the cashier to order from there. So we went to the cashier table and I asked him why he couldn’t come to take our order at the table if I also wanted to order a beer there while waiting for the food. Keep in mind it is late for dinner and their restaurant was almost completely empty. He answered very rudely about not being able to take his little paper pad to the table to get our order (again not sure why when there were only 2 tables being served at the restaurant). My daughter was finishing ordering at the cashier and I was about to just leave it alone when I heard him again say rudely about how takeout had to be ordered at the cashier table and then I lost it and just told him to cancel our order that it was ridiculous that if he saw we wanted to sit and have a beer that he could not take our order at the same table. Now if the restaurant was really busy I totally see how I should not take up a table waiting for takeout or how they could not even come to take my order but if the restaurant is dead and they are asking you and you’re the manager, really? I just don’t get it, as a business owner myself, we always try to please the customer especially if it’s a reasonable request. So again the worst service ever, they never apologized or anything so my family and I will not be going back. After that we went to Titaya’s for Thai food which was really close and their service was top notch. They definitely did not disappoint, they were very busy, most tables were full and they very politely sat us down so we could order a drink while we ordered and waited for our takeout. We will...

The one on Guadalupe is AWEsome. The crown sauce, the coconut curry soup is superb, the vegetarian version uses small silky cubes of the Japanese style soft tofu, and I love their peanut sauce.

The portions are generous, the ambience is nice, it's a nice restaurant with interesting imported brocade elephant tablecloths, actual cloth napkins and every thing.😉 For students on a tight budget, you can occasionally splurge here and feel like got something nicer than your squat-and-gobble or your chain blah-ness because of the low price and generous poetioms.

The same two guys have been host and waiter forEVER and come off as rather desultory but are quite friendly if you give it the efforts. And hit the lunch special 3-4 times a month for 10 years 😃😆😋

Tips for dining Thai

Even if you like very spicy food, dont order it " Spicy for Thai people" Your throat will swell shut and your eyes will melt. This will not impress your date.

NEVER ask for chopsticks, the Tha dont use them, and it's really kinda racist to assume they do. Almost as bad as demanding baba's ganoush in a Greek restaurant, and when told, with a cold stare, "that's TURKISH", responding "So?"

Plus, you can enjoy some smug superiority and smile knowingly at your dinner companion(s) as you all survey the other diners choice of...

Beware: the menu does not reflect full ingredients. I recently visited with a party of four and ordered three items. One of the dishes I ordered was a soup that arrived with ingredients not listed on the menu—including tomatoes and bits of onion, even though I had specifically requested no onions. More concerning, one person in my party has a mushroom allergy, and when I asked the server about that ingredient, they confirmed the soup did contain mushrooms—again, not listed anywhere on the menu. To make matters worse, there was a shift change during our meal, and no server was available when the food arrived. With no one to speak to and having waited a while, I started eating. While the soup was edible, it wasn’t particularly enjoyable, and the presence of unexpected ingredients made it frustrating for the whole table. There was no meaningful apology—just a suggestion to “let someone know next time.” But who are we supposed to tell when there’s no server around and the food has already been served after a wait? If the kitchen and menu aren’t aligned, the least the restaurant can do is ensure staff are available to answer questions or address concerns when food arrives. I’m not completely sure I’d like to give this restaurant...

My (now!) husband and I went here for a late night meal after our legal marriage ceremony. The service was wonderful! The food came out so fast, and it tasted very fresh. There are a lot of vegan options labeled on the menu, so it was great we didn’t have to ask if they had anything. We both got the green curry with tofu, highly recommend! I love that it is open so late! It’s hard to find places open late in Austin anymore. Excited to come back and try more of the vegan options on their menu!

This place has a very humble and authentic Thai atmosphere. The basil fried rice with shrimp was out of this world good! Bursting with flavour and depth of spices, it was definitely the best fried rice I've had in Austin yet. The mango sticky rice paled a bit in comparison. The mango was sweet and sour, not like the ones you get year round in Thailand, and I prefer the rice to be a little less mushy. Overall though, it was a delicious meal and I'm definitely going back.

Newly furnished and changed management restaurant. The restaurant interior is fresh and seems newly painted. Server is polite and attentive. Restaurant is not busy at 11:30am. We ordered Pad See Ew with shrimp, Pad Thai with Pork and Thai Siew Mai. The presentation and taste of the food we ordered are just fine. Just average for hungry stomach. The Pad Thai is pretty oily which I don’t really enjoy it. The Siew Mai is not steamed but seems light heated in hot oil.
