YaYa Cafe — Restaurant in Austin

A bit overpriced and food was ehh...I got 2 super watered down Thai teas a regular sized pho and a rice dish. Total was $30 so I'm like ok this better be good. Didn't even drink the Thai tea it tasted like sweet water. The Pho was ok but sure as heck needed more noodles and meat for the price. The rice dish had maybe 1 cup of rice and 8 cubes of meat so was disappointed with that for sure and it was over 9.00. Overall food was ok and of course overpriced. The guy at the front was nice but it took like 30 min for a take out order of 2 simple dishes. Will not go back just because I can name 10 other places that are cheaper and better. All these high ratings makes me think that most customers are students that live close but sure need to get out more and try some better places cause it does not deserve a 5...

I don’t want to give this place a bad review so I’ll give it a “meh” because the service was great until I went to pay in cash and was given a dirty look because I paid almost to the dollar. I was searching in my purse for exact tip money and the person stood there glaring at me until I looked up surprised. I still tipped ! I ordered egg rolls for there which was good and sandwich to take home to eat. When I got here the sandwich was front loaded (very sad to see) ripped off half the bread and made a partial sandwich with the rest. To be fair, most businesses in the service industry have to be struggling right now. However, the food that my wife and I got (Mi Combo, Mi Seafood Wonton, Spring Rolls) was so incredibly bland and unappealing. We couldn't even finish our dishes because we'd rather save the calories and fix something at home in 5 minutes that tastes better. We love Vietnamese food, but what we got was very underwhelming, and extremely disappointing. This was our only visit to this restaurant, and honestly, we have no reason to go back. Again, we do understand that now especially is a tough time for food service, and we hope this is experience...
