My wife and I went into Texas Leather and Furniture to look at a new love seat. We wanted to replace my recliner. Lance and Gilbert were the salesman that greeted us with a smile as it was a slow day for them and was happy to see a customer. We asked for a love seat that had a recliner and we liked the idea of a larger size. We also wanted it soft and puffy and lots of cushion. And we wanted some sort of divider in the middle to make a armrest. So we would have essentially 2 recliners or one nice loveseat. The salesman showed us this removable center pillow style cushion with cup holders that fit in the seam of the 2 cushions and we loved it. It was a extra to add it but it was a feature we wanted in the beginning and so we opted to pay extra for it. Loved the fact we could remove it to make it one seat. We finally tried out a few and got to the one we loved. It ended up being called a 1 and 1/2 size loveseat, so it was smaller than a couch and bigger than your average love seat. I loved the way it felt like it had lots if room to stretch out. We could also remove the center cushion and I could lay down on the whole loveseat and I was able to fit in it like a smaller couch and stretch out and not have to lay all curled up. And they said it was there best seller too as it was the most comfortable love seat and had all the features that one would want.

We asked a few questions and the salesman knew what they were talking about and not just telling us things to have us buy from them. When it was time to pick out the color, wow...lots to choose from!!! We had examples from every color you could think of. If you want a custom color for some furniture, this is the place for you. We took our time and They didn’t rush us at all. We would take each choice and lay it next to the love seat and was able to visualize the color. We also had pictures on our phone we looked at to find some wall shots. ((When you come in to look and buy...TAKE PICTURES of your WALLS and other FURNITURE!!)) then you can help match the color better. We found a few pics we happened to have on our phones and made it work.

When it comes to price, it’s based on the leather you choose. We finally found a nice brown color. When we got to the check out area the salesman went over a few options, warranty, did we want electric recliner or manual. We ended up getting the warranty as we have dogs and know we might use it. I hate buying those, but felt the price was reasonable and knowing my luck I would need it in the 5 years it lasted. We got explained again in full detail that the warranty covers one dog tear and after that we have to pay. Ok sounds good as the salesman explained before with the protected style we picked out it would help against that. Also covered stains and not normal wear and tear. Also was explained that the frame had a lifetime warranty included. We also had to pay for delivery but again another one of those hate to pay extra. They call it white glove service, I call it put some gloves on and move it. The electric seemed like a good price to add and we figured we will have this loveseat for possibly a very long time. And might as well get that really nice feature added. WE WILL BE BACK!! You should check them out too!! I’ll update this if we have a bad experience with the product or delivery when we get it. The feedback below supplies details of our journey in getting out heirloom couch. TL;DR Texas Leather Interiors is working with us to resolve the.cushion and frame issues on the first couch. They are building a new couch from scratch, which will take about 10 weeks, then will swap the defective couch for the new one. This is a great solution, and we look forward to the delivery date.

3/11/2025 Update We did have to change colors during the order process due to our first choice being discontinued. We also lost our salesperson the day after placing our order, which was odd.

The strangest thing was that the salesperson insisted we fill out the order and sign it before the order details were complete on the form. If we elected not to do this, we would have held legal leverage to get the order correct the first time, or have the ability to cancel the order with refund of the 50% initial payment. They also pressure customers to fill out a Google Review in the store before the transaction is complete.

7/20/2025 Update Our couch was finally delivered on 7/2/2025 following a February order. Several issues were observed with the couch. Lance, the store manager, is working with us to resolve them, and unfortunately this will take a while.

We have discussed issues with Lance regarding order accuracy (i.e. we ordered the firmest cushions, and Lance alleges the order does not indicate that, when customers have no way to double check the order accuracy in the store), replacement cushions that do not match the size of the original, and a couch that creaks like is is 20 years old when it is months.

Lance did order new cushion inserts that are on he firmest, and a new cushion cover to replace one with a cut. They were installed today, but the new cushion does not match the size of the others, leaving a jagged front edge. Lance's contractor noted there are problems with the frame that may require reinforcement screws; we have to wait for Lance to advise of the next steps for this couch that cost...

We custom ordered two power recliner sofas and one power recliner swivel glider/rocker from Texas Leather. I was nervous about the purchase because the three pieces were relatively expensive and the leather samples available to choose from were rather small. I selected the color “saloon night sky” which appeared darker than I wanted, but the sales associate Charles assured me that it would look lighter in a big piece and after being stretched to make the furniture. Fortunately, Charles was right – the color turned out to be a dark grey/charcoal combination which was exactly what I was hoping for. The furniture is gorgeous!

There were a number of things about Texas Leather that made us spend the extra money to order custom furniture. I had searched all the furniture stores in Austin and was having difficulty finding leather furniture in a color I liked that felt comfortable and looked appealing. I wanted a seat that was wide enough sit with my legs curled up. I wanted something with adequate back and head support for both me and my taller husband. And while we wanted cup holders, we also wanted to be able to sit next to each other when not using the cup holders. We found all this at Texas Leather.

The cup holders at Texas Leather sit on top of the sofas and can easily be removed if you want to lay down or sit more people. The individual sofa cushions all have concealed zippers which allow you to add, remove, or replace the stuffing, so you can individually adjust all the cushions to your desired firmness and comfort. The sofa seats widths can be ordered in “one and a half” sizes, so there is plenty of room to move around and get comfortable.
