This is quite possibly the worst IHOP I've ever eaten at. I love IHOP, have since I was a kid and even worked at one for nearly 6 yrs. This place is a total joke when it comes to food and service. We entered the restaurant at approximately 4pm and were quite surprised to see no one in the parking lot or inside the store. Meh, ok, our lucky day. Ugh! Not so. Let's start with the food. My husband absolutely adores Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, lots of gravy. When he ordered he made it a point to ask for extra gravy on the steak itself and the potatoes plus a side of gravy. I couldn't quite believe what he actually got. First of all, the steak itself was extraordinarily thin, the coating was dry and tasteless. The gravy that was on that steak amounted to about a teaspoon full, then the potatoes had approximately the same amount. She forgot the side of gravy he ordered. We had to ask her for it an additional 2 times. He also ordered a side salad with Italian Dressing. Twice he had to ask for the Italian Dressing, the 2nd time the waitress got this look on her face like "Ok stupid I'm gonna get you more just 1 more time!", you know the look. When she asked, "Do you need more than two?" pointing at the two containers of CAESAR dressing she had previously brought. He picked one up, pointing at the words Caesar Dressing on the cover and said, "I want ITALIAN Dressing." It was only then she realized her mistake and her own stupidity.
Now for my order. I also ordered the Chicken Fried Steak dinner along with a side salad with the addition of avocado, but I wanted Caesar dressing. It took two hand waves to get her back to our table to refill the sweet teas we'd initially ordered. She brought our salads out and I immediately noticed she'd forgotten the avocado. After the "banter" with my husband regarding the salad dressing he wanted she quickly walked away without asking me if there was anything else I needed. rolls my eyes Okay, so she made it back about 7-9 min. later with the 1 (ONE) packet of Italian Dressing and as she turned to go I reached out to touch her arm and it was only then that she seemed to realize I was still seated at the table. I pointed out that she'd forgotten avocado, to which she apologized and immediately took my salad to the kitchen to remedy the mistake. 11 minutes later, (yes 11, I was making note of things at this point) she returned with my salad which now sported 4 very thin avocado slices on top, along with 5 full size rings of red onion, 3 tomatoes and a lot of lettuce. I asked her for the Caesar dressing I'd ordered and she reached into her pocket and dropped the two little packets she'd collected after my husband's clarification of which salad dressing he actually wanted. She was rude, she was slow and I only used the term "waitress" loosely. Unfortunately my Chicken Fried steak was grossly over cooked, the breading was soggy on the bottom and over crunchy on top. The gravy was the one out of the can called "Country Gravy", it was horrid, tasteless and it was sparsely used on my steak and potatoes as well. I had asked for extra butter to put on my potatoes as I'm not the gravy freak my husband is and I had to remind her twice that I was still waiting on that. When she brought out the two packets of butter I was really shocked at her attitude, the lack of fresh ingredients and things being brought to the table in little plastic packets. Ironically the manager had a plaque hung inside the entrance to the kitchen that read, "If it isn't perfect, don't serve it." They have a very long way to go. We'll stick to our usual IHOP very close to our neighborhood from now on. The food there is served hot, fresh, and never ever...
Read moreI went tonight with my mom, little sister and fiance and had the worst experience. I ordered the Adam's family special hot chocolate, they served me black, burnt coffee with the purple whipped cream. My fiance ordered the shake and it wasnt bad, a mediocre chocolate shake. However, it took well over 30 minutes for our food to arrive despite us being the only people in there when we came in. We didnt receive our food until I got up to go talk to our server, who had been standing with the only other server on duty talking for about 15 minutes. The moment they saw me walking up they said "oh, are you wondering where your food is?" and went into the kitchen without talking to me. They proceeded to yell at the cooks about getting our food out and a moment later came out with our food. I walked with them back to our table and asked that they send a manager over, as we soon realized all of our food was cold from sitting in the window while the servers talked. The manager came over after about 5 minutes and after I calmly explained everything, he gave me a half hearted apology and walked away to get us some items that were forgotten. All of us barely ate anything on our plates since it was cold, the only one who finished was my little sister. When our server brought the check over the manager had given us a whopping $5 off with a 10% senior discount. I explained to the server that I wasnt not going to pay for food I didnt eat, and especially not the "hot chocolate " they served me that I took two sips of. She went back to speak with the manager and came by with a second check of $10 off. My sisters food was on the check (she is under 12) even though the menu clearly stated that kids are free with the purchase of an adult entree. By this point we were all upset and I went up there to speak with the manager again, I explained to him that I am a manager at a restaurant and I didnt want to make scene, but that I wasnt going to pay for food not eaten, drinks not drank, and a kids meal that was supposed to be free. The manager and I worked out the bill with one another and came to an agreed price. I will just state this, I know that going to IHOP I am not going to receive 5 star service, and I wasnt expecting that. But what I did expect was for certain standards to be set, as in any restaurant, to serve quality food with good guest service. None of which we recieved tonight. The manager, who very much lacked experience, did not care at all, so how do you expect any of the servers or cooks to care? As a manager myself, I would feel ashamed of the service they...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have to amend my earlier positive review. Things have gone severely downhill here. I ordered delivery of a monster cheeseburger with onion rings and a large Diet Pepsi. Not only did they forget to give the delivery driver my Pepsi, but the onion rings were bland. They had zero seasoning. The "monster" burger had zero salt or pepper. The meat was slightly gray as well. They used no seasoning cooking the burger and it had cheese on it, but no flavor at all. Zero flavor. No char flavor, no salt or pepper, no taste of cheese. Nothing. When I called in to get it fixed, I waited on hold for 20 MINUTES with no answer. Just the retarded Ihop automated announcements on repeat.
This is absolutely infuriating. Especially when I paid 20 dollars for this meal, but it I would not pay 2 dollars for it unless I was starving to death.
Update 05/15/2023 Yet again I’ve had issues. I ordered delivery, but the order was somehow switched to dine in or carry out. I do not know which. Calling (twice) and waiting on hold for 15 minutes (twice), I got a recorded line saying everyone was busy. (Twice). You’re telling me the manager and any server are non stop busy all night, they can’t take ten seconds to see if any calls come in? How about giving the shift manager a cordless and it clips to their pants? I feel like, if you are open, you need to answer the phone. The call could be a customer trying to solve an issue. Now I have to go in person to solve this. If you don’t allow delivery after a certain time, the app needs to not switch orders from delivery to whatever else, without telling me. OR, CALLING THE CUSTOMER IF THEY DONT ARRIVE TO GET THE FOOD. This is not rocket science. This is the...
