This is our go-to for crab fried rice and egg rolls.. we love their food, but a situation has happened 2 too many times, and it must be addressed..

First time, ordered crab and shrimp fried rice for pick up.. wasn't told that they didn't have crab until food was picked up.. no worries.. paid what was charged originally for both crab and shrimp, even though we got shrimp only.. food was still good..

Second time.. ordered crab fried rice once again for pick up.. along with beef fried rice and 2 orders of veggie/meat spring rolls.. they called to let us know they didn't have crab once again and if shrimp would be ok instead.. we said yes.. the phone call was appreciated this time around, but no further discussionwas had.. cool.. went to pick it up and noticed that our total was the same from what was said on the phone when we called it in.. questioned why because we know shrimp fried rice is cheaper than crab fried rice.. chef said he put extra shrimp to make up for it.. but why?? This was never discussed and what makes you think that we wanted extra shrimp?? What makes you think it's ok to make up our minds for us? What makes you think it's ok to do this sneaky stuff to your customers??

Food is good but ethics.. not so much.. sad to say that is all it takes to not come back because we have been...

Chicken Pad Thai is amazing here! It has little crushed peanuts and the perfect amount of sauce!

UODATE: My previous review is over 2 years old. I cannot believe I forgot to leave my recent update sooner! During the snowpocalypse, THEY WERE OPEN. I highly appreciated it because my power and water were out for days! I live close enough to walk, so I walked in the snow and they literally saved my life. 😭 I asked for water and the woman working the door gave me two super full cups, and they were hot (crazy to think I'd ever be thankful for that in Texas, but I surely was)!!! She even still asked me if I wanted her to chill them,, but of course I was freezing, so I was so grateful for the hot waters! Also, why were they hot? Because we were under a boil water notice, and THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND BOIKED IT FOR ME! 😭 A lot of the other (few) open restaurants simply weren't serving water, but they did! So so kind. I ordered my usual Chicken Pad Thai, but double, and survived off of that for a couple of days. I cannot thank them enough and I'm so grateful to them for being open when it was an impossible task, but they did it. They have a loyal customer FOR LIFE. The food is so so good too, so them saving my life was just the extreme...

Tried for the first time and we won’t be going back. Everyone was nice and service was good, but something about the food is slightly off. We went during lunch around 12 pm and I must say the service was fast and the food was fresh. The soup of the day (hot and sour) had an interesting taste and we could not finish it.. We tried to keep our hopes up for the main meal. Ordered general tso’s chicken and it was tough and honestly not the best I’ve had.. we also ordered pad see ew and it was good, but I was surprised about the up charge for Chinese broccoli. I was unaware and they did not tell me even when I was ordering that it would be a little extra until I got the check. Even then, the pad see ew did not have much eye appeal vegetable-wise. Before leaving, we asked for to-go boxes and I was a little upset that when I got up to use the restroom the server rushed in and grabbed my plate when I was away. I would have appreciated it if they waited for us to leave before taking the plates or asking if we were finished. They were fast and efficient. It seemed like they were more eager to get us...

This is the first time we tried this place and we are really happy. Our waitress was really good. I wish I had asked her name so I could mention here. She was so sweet, helped pick us right dish and also helped us with our choices. Even though we had so many questions she was polite and kind. For appetizer we had the Vegetarian Egg rolls. It was so yummy and I found it really creative to add thin rice noodles into the roll. For mains I had the Khao Soi. It’s like a curry with noodles and for protein I chose tofu. My husband had the Ka-Prow Chicken. Both the dishes were really good. My curry smelled amazing. The presentation was so beautiful too. My husband said his Kaprow was super tasty and healthy and not very oily. We also had hot tea along with our meal. I had jasmine tea and my husband had green tea. It was a really good place with warm and cozy meals. A definite must try place if you like good Asian food.

We just ordered some of the sushi for pickup. It was TERRIBLE. Unfortunately, the restaurant is now closed for the night, so we can't take it back. But if we could, I would. There was a lot wrong with the sushi, but a few things really stood out: - There was a foul, rancid taste to the crab in the spider roll. Not sure if it was burned, or if its gone off. I guess I'll report back if we get sick or not. - The spicy tuna is BROWN. See photo. This is not fresh. Unfortunately, one of my dining partners actually ate a few pieces before I saw it. Here's hoping he doesn't get sick. - The spicy crab roll is just a mess. The mayo is unseasoned and the crab topping is just everywhere. It looks nothing like the photo on the website. See for yourself. Avoid at all costs. Truly the worst sushi I've had in Austin. $70 worth of sushi went straight into the trash.

The yellow curry is delicious but not the best I've had. A spicy level 2 was perfect for me. The flavor was good, and there was a good amount for a lunch portion. I didn't love the chicken though nor the onions which could have been softer. When I make yellow curry at home, I cook my chicken with the curry, use a little more coconut milk, use more potatoes and carrots than onions, and simmer everything for a while to soften up the veggies. Ka-Prow is heavy on the onion, and you can tell they make this fresh because the onions still had some crunch to them. I guess I was hoping to find a yellow curry the way I make it. The price sure was right. I was out of there for under $17 with tip, and that's what other places in Austin charge for yellow curry. Also Ka-Prow uses the right ingredients: onion, carrots, and potatoes.
