Sail Bainbridge — Attraction in Bainbridge Island

Initially, this was supposed to be a surprise birthday gift for my husband who has always wanted to sail. Ben, Kenza, the boat, and the sail were all precious to the point where I was even surprised as the experience was extremely phenomenal. I highly encourage others to sail and to stay on the boat. If I knew better, I would have booked a longer sail as time goes by quick when you are having fun! The sunset was incredible and the surrounding community was so pleasant. We saw wildlife and enjoyed being docked with the slight movements of the water against the boat. Ben got us vegan doughnuts which was absolutely appreciated, they were wonderful. Also we had some rose tea that Ben provided in the kitchen and it was amazing way to enjoy the night. Ben is super knowledgeable and is very friendly (as so is Kenza). This experience solidified our hopes to sail on our own one day with our own boat. Also, the boat (True) is absolutely a stunning beauty. We got some compliments when fellow kayakers passed by when we were docked :) It was a very comfy stay and we appreciated all the fine details during our stay. It was truly special. We've been living on the island for less than a year, but wanted to get out on the water, and love to sail, so this seemed like a great way to do it. Also invited dear friends visiting us from out of town. First off the True itself is lovely - an elegant ketch with clean lines, a very quiet and non-intrusive engine, and a lovely bearing in the water. Sadly the day we went out was quite calm, so we had to use the engine more than I might have wished, but Captain Ben knows the area very well and found us not only fun marine life to view, but pockets of wind where we could experience the sail itself. On to Ben - kind, generous, thoughtful, gracious, funny, musical.... a part of the boat, a part of the Sound, and a great human being with whom to spend some hours. A day of relaxing and enjoying spiritual replenishment. Could not ask for more, and remain in deep gratitude for...

I had planned on gifting my partner who just turned 42 with something different and I decided to take him (along with our friends) sailing. I commissioned Ben to take all of us on a full day of sailing. What a great experience it was for all of us. Ben is not only very knowledgeable about sailing but also quite passionate about it. He's very well-traveled, quite witty and have a great sense of humor and he's a talented singer as well! What I really like about him is that he treated us with respect and genuinely engaged in our talks, some of which were funny and at times, revolving around difficult topics. Towards the first half of our trip, we felt like we have known Ben forever. What a great guy! I highly recommend you go out sailing with him.
