I normally love to bring people to Cups because of how good the drinks and atmosphere is. However, yesterday I had possibly the worst service experience ever. The woman taking our order greeted us with a grimace and a sigh. While I understand that we had a rather large group of people in our party, 9 total, it was pretty disappointing to be “greeted” with such attitude. I know it’s not easy to deal with larger groups, but we felt very unwelcome and rushed while ordering. At one point, she even snapped at one of the members in my group for not picking up their drink from the counter fast enough. I understand wanting to expedite the process, but she had only called her drink less than 20 seconds ago. To be clear, we came during a down period in the afternoon and we were the one of the only groups there. There was no reason to rush us or be rude. Despite the service, the drinks were delicious! I understand that everyone has bad days and I’m willing to give a benefit of the doubt. However, our experience made me slightly wary about...
Read moreThis is the THIRD time I've ordered the Ring or Fire and they've LEFT OFF THE AVOCADO. This is not the first time, nor the second... but incredibly the third time. The staff says absolutely nothing about having run out of avocado or the likes. I had gotten into the habit of asking if they have avocado everytime I order because of the two prior incidents when they left it off. Shame on me for not policing the staff and making sure they're doing their job correctly, right? My slip up today will be my last because I'm no longer patronizing this place that has persistent inept staff. If you like your order messed up, by all means come visit Cups!
EDIT: After the company I work at placed an order with Cups and they forgot an ENTIRE SANDWICH in the order, I decided to respond to the owner's request of e-mailing them. Their response? Crickets... it looks like the owner's response to my poor review is nothing but grandstanding to make the review not...
Read moreBig open space for working or chatting with friends, the noise level is always manageable. Wifi is provided. A short walk from Winslow Wharf marina and the waterfront trail, it's slightly off the main Winslow Way drag so it doesn't get nearly as crowded with tourists as the other spots. I'd put this place at #1 coffee shop in Winslow for bringing your laptop and getting work done.
The coffee is delicious, great cold brew and quality lattes. They have a punch card, so make sure you grab one for inevitable return trips.
For food, all the breakfast + lunch options are good. I had an artichoke quiche for breakfast that was really well made, great flavor and crust, and a bagel sandwich for lunch on a jalapeno bagel that was spicy and had high quality ingredients. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the croissant breakfast sandwich - only because the cheese on it was kind of goopy.
Looking forward to becoming a...
