I have been to Me Land several times and upon reading other people's reviews must clarify a few things for parents reading the reviews. 1.) Kids are loud. You can't not come to an in-door children's playground and complain that "it's too loud". Two.) You can't attend a children's birthday party at an open playground and expect all the children in the birthday party to stay together in one place. It doesn't work like that. 3.) It's not the staff's fault that you missed said birthday party because you were on your phone leaving them a terrible review. Most parents who have attended a child's birthday party would have gotten up and checked in with party and waited until they got home to leave a review. 4.) If your there for a birthday party and you notice it's loud and you can't hear the announcements, you should check in with staff. Tell them, "I'm here for a party and I can't hear when the party is announced, can you tell me the room and time the party is supposed to be at? Then you collect your child at that time and go to said party room. 5.) There is a long counter with stools to sit on and eat snacks by the tube slide. Yes during extremely busy times(like the weekend)seating is not unlimited. I'm sure the business owners assumed that parents bringing their children to indoor playground would play the majority of the time. It's not a restaurant. Most kids would sit for 5 minutes have a drink, eat a quick snack and get back up and play and seat and counter would be open for next person and so on. 6.) Parents complaining the staff wasn't watching the door to keep children from leaving. It's not a daycare center where you leave and they are 100% responsible for your child. It's your responsibility to watch your child I understand children are quick, but the play area is far enough from the door and there is a barrier surrounding the lobby so it's not possible for a child to just bolt to the door. 7.) The Stamp on your child's hand is not for security reasons like chuck-e-cheeses. It's so you can come back and play the same day without paying admission a second time. I don't know of any local playground that will let you leave, eat lunch, let your kid nap whatever and return without paying admission. That's a great deal especially if your there for 5 minutes toddler has meltdown and you have take them home to nap. 8.) The staff at the top of the inter-tube slide Is there to make sure children are sitting correctly In the tube before sliding down, they aren't sliding down head first etc. They aren't there to carry the tube up for you or your child. (Parents of small children under 8, they will not be able to pull the inter-tube up the ramp to slide down). It's steep and the tube is heavy. You will get buns of steel going up and down that ramp. The ramp is also narrow and you have to squeeze back down the ramp past other parents and kids carrying large tubes. So that is one part of the play structure that could be redesigned. Parents that claim they went to Me'land and got sick upon returning home most likely did not get sick from the play stucture. Contact with virus and bacteria do not make one immediately sick or sick within a few hours. They were likely infected days earlier. Overall it's a good play ground with small toddler area( the area for older children is significantly larger) During busy times older children tend to be too rowdy In ball pit area for small toddlers to play.(Ball pit is in children's section not the toddler section) But I don't know of any toddler who would see the ball pit and not want to go in. They definitely need a toddlers only ball pit. They also need a toddlers only time. There is no locking lockers only cubbies, so if you don't want to carry around purse valuables I would leave in the car. Weekend prices are higher and is more busy. Stick to weekdays for cheaper admission rates and...
Read moreWe visited on a Friday ith 3 kids, 7, 4 and 1. It wasn't too crowded, but more than I thought it would be on a Friday during school hours. We stayed about 2 hours but probably could have stayed longer if we didn't have plans that evening. Pros: cute and creative layout. Think DZ discovery zone on a smaller scale. Jungle theme is adorable, my one year old loved all the colors and props. -Lots of different engaging obstacles inside tube maze. Everything is padded so well and seems extremely safe. I went into the maze with my one year old (wouldn't advise this on a busy day) and she was able to climb/walk over fun obstacles too! (There were some dangerous areas for toddlers but as long as an involved adult is with them they will be fine.) -Really neat interactive screen where kids can throw ball pit balls to interact with the game on the screen. My son loved this! -Friendly staff -It gets HOT in there, like dripping in sweat hot! So we decided to purchase some water and a Gatorade... Only 5 bucks for all three. They could gouge you there but didn't.
Cons: SECURITY!!!!!!!! Holy moly..in today's day you would think they would have a place meant for little kids loaded with security features...nope NADA. Chucky cheese has a better system! They stamp each person's arm with an invisible stamp upon entering. Then that's it, the kids run amuck and can leave the area by themselves whenever! I was shocked. I asked the person at the desk what the stamps were for and they said it was for readmitting if you leave and come back. So yeah... Great you are concerned about your money but not the safety of our kids. Anyone could just walk right out with them. There are also a lot of dead zones or empty corners without supervision or staff present. -no staff once inside the play area. NONE. Which means no policing to enforce the rules. Let's face it, parents were on their phones not paying attention to junior who is climbing UP the slides or taking the giant balls from one area and bowling it down said slide almost taking out like kids with it. Some kid (nearing the age limit of 12) was making inappropriate pictures on a screen and not letting the little ones play while several older kids without siblings accompanying then we're running through the tot area (supposed to be 3 and under.) -not enough for my 1 year old to do. The tot area is sort of a waste. Nothing interested my 1 year old.. The tiny slide was WAY too fast so no one was using it. -broken stuff already. Several things weren't working. Very disappointed that the snow tubes were out of commission for some reason. -cost. 15 bucks a person x 3 meant I paid 45 dollars for 3 kids. That's nuts. Apparently they charge weekend rates not on weekends....it was Friday? So yeah that was odd ...
All in all, I would go back maybe once or twice a year. I wouldn't take the one year old though. I didn't feel like I could keep my eye on my order two while still letting my one year old run around safely. It's a really great concept but definitely needs some safety improvements. Honestly I'll be surprised if it is still here in...
Read moreI want to tell you about my Memorial Day experience with my children and Me Land. I’ve been busy and have been meaning to warn potential customers who have kids with special needs not to go to Me Land. They will treat you like garbage and kick you out because they hire entitled kids who don’t understand what’s going on.
My wife and two small children, of which one is autistic and in full time therapy, came to Me Land late morning on Memorial Day. Upon entering, it’s always chaos with the kids. We’re trying to keep control of our Autistic son while we’re going through the check process as I was required to fill out another waiver. There was something wrong with the system and it was taking longer than usual, and I asked a question about the process and received an answer you might get from an entitled teenager. Not helpful, and I was a little annoyed but didn’t say anything. I’m looking back at my wife struggling to keep control of my son and daughter and our stress was building up. I said something under my breath in about the iPad (like “why is this so slow”) because it had a lag and wouldn’t register what I was typing as I was trying like hell to get done and help my wife. One of the teenage girls decided to escalate and say “you don’t have to be rude about it” right in front of my family and customers while we are simply trying to control our son while doing the waiver on a slow iPad. I told her not to talk to me like that, and she kicked me out. Watch the tape. It’s all there. She escalated that quickly. Absolutely no reason to kick out me and his family when they were the ones who deliberately escalated. I was already stressed trying to keep control of my kids and going through an arduous checkin process, and apparently I am suppose to be all smiles or I’ll be insulted by the staff. I never said anything to them to deserve being insulted and kicked out.
Oh, and I’m a disabled veteran who spent almost 15 years serving. Real nice way to spend my Memorial Day weekend. The staff at this place says all I need to know about management and ownership. I remember going to Me Land a few months prior and showing up when they opened, and the door was locked until another kid opens it 5 min past. If this is how they hire and train staff, I don’t feel safe with my children in this place.
If you have kids with special needs, please rethink this place and go somewhere else. If I stop one person from going through what I did, then this review will...
