I've heard about Texas Roadhouse for years, but today I drove past the Frederick location Had so much business, I knew I had to find out why Everyone there staff & customers were happy and friendly Once I tasted the food I knew why
The food is true Texas..the staff ..everyone helpful, friendly (unlike most restaurants)
The best were Charlie, Ava, & Nicole (Their picture below)
Update...(7/23/2025) I go here weekly for chili which is fantastic Everytime I go, someone is celebrating their birthday/often 2 parties So good to Texas Roadhouse and celebrate birthdays the Texas way (Nobody pays me to write my reviews..I just love sharing my experiences of discovering great food and great staff If it was allowed I would rate this restaurant 10+++ stars Today I was given free peanuts...everyone apparently gets a bag of really good peanuts
UPDATE LABOR DAY 2025!!!
Texas Roadhouse opened specially today at 11:00 a.m.for Labor Day
I knew I had to go there for lunch, because on the app (ending today ) for my birthday I would get a free side or sidekick with any entre
So I bought what I heard about from many Roadhousers (1) ribs as my sidekick (2) Pulled pork as my entre (3) My favorite included with sandwich chili..upgraded it to bowl for $1
Result..my best lunch of my life. Texas roadhouse..if they make it..it is always one of the best in america..today included
The staff today was Brandon...a remarkable worker who helped suggest my choices today. He runs the carry out window like an atomic scientist..in other words= with perfection
Kudos to the following managers & managing partner for creating likely the best Texas Roadhouse in America Kitchen manager=John French Op. .Manager=Rob Kershaw ( no relationship to Clayton) Tara Kyle is the best service manager i have observed in any restaurant in my life
Considering how this location smashes the now failing Outback Steakhouse & is [never as busy as Texas Steakhose] & the other steakhouse whose name i cannot recall/apparently like most Fredericksonians because I predict it's fate is similar to Outback. Outback in Gaithersburg closed over a year ago because it is overpriced and no longer good enough to patronage. It hasn't innovate in over 3 decades
You decide for yourself..but if you don't choose Texas roadhouse..your friends and family will likely disown you.
Dennis Sadur No restaurant has paid me nor ever given me free or discounted forfor my reviews
I tend not to write bad reviews/except in comparison
Restaurants today are struggling to survive
Happily not T.R.H. in Frederick/likely anywhere
P.S. there peanuts still one of their best surprises. You'll want to grap a handful of bags. Please don't..leave them for other patrons.
Update 9/12/2025
Tonight while waiting for my chili take-out order..I heard a birthday celebration. The cutest ever 3 year old sat on the birthday saddle. With permission I took pictures..the shots you will discover why families celebrate birthdays of all ages..the best ones are the children. Bring children of any ages (1-100) to Texas Roadhouse to sit on the saddle
The experience is wonderful and the pictures...
Read moreRequesting feedback from the corporate office regarding the poor hospitality experiences for parties of four adults and two children. Our family felt humiliated by the Frederick, Maryland, location manager on Saturday, July 5, around 8 PM.
A fair number of people were in the restaurant, but it wasn't a busy night. Our waiter did not deliver our food, and there was no follow-up regarding the steaks, which resulted in three incorrect steak orders. The quick drop-off of food, without any concerns or questions from the server about the meals, led the head of our table to request assistance from another waiter to locate our original server.
Once we finally spoke with our original waiter, we expressed our disappointment, as all three steaks were overcooked/well, and one meal was completely wrong. All three meals were sent back to the kitchen. Throughout this time, no drinks were refilled, no courtesy check-in was made, and the table was not cleaned.
After waiting for some time for the manager, the server dropped off one of the steaks without remorse or apology, and he did not ask if the steak was cooked to our liking. When we asked him to check on the steak, he replied that we should wait while he looked into something else, quickly brushing us off. During his absence, we noticed that the steak was again of poor quality. We promptly informed the manager that this issue had not been addressed for that specific steak, which led to a back-and-forth disagreement about how the steak was undercooked and raw.
The manager's actions showed a complete lack of sympathy for our concerns regarding our experience, so we felt compelled to record the conversation. The manager spoke to us aggressively and repeatedly interrupted us, refusing to allow us to provide feedback, despite our numerous requests to speak. We then asked him to step away from the table, as he was unwilling to address the service and food issues appropriately.
After several requests to speak to a different manager, he offered us a company information card and kicked us out of the facility. Even after the other parties involved tried to express their remorse to the manager, he humiliated us. It is important to note that our children were observing this irrational behavior from the manager while others onlookers were watching as well.
Several times, the manager related that this conversation is done. He then told us to leave, even though two people in our party of six had already eaten their food. We requested clarification, asking several times if he was indeed asking us to leave the establishment without paying for the food we had already consumed. At first, he refused to answer, but after one of my party members informed him that we were recording the interaction, he finally confirmed that yes, we were being asked to leave without paying. He also threatened to call the police, even though his behavior caused a public scene on the restaurant floor.
The entire situation was unacceptable and...
Read moreTonight, my family and I went out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We were a party of six, and several of us ordered steaks. When the food arrived, a different server—not our original one—placed the meals on the table and quickly walked away. Upon cutting into our steaks, we noticed that three were cooked incorrectly. We simply wanted to have them corrected so we could enjoy our meals.
A host noticed us looking around and kindly went to find our server. About 15 minutes later, the server returned, took the incorrectly prepared plates, and let us know that the manager would be bringing the new steaks out to check on us.
When the manager eventually came to the table, he placed my steak in front of me. My wife politely asked if he could wait a moment to make sure the steak was prepared correctly. He bluntly told her “no,” saying he would return when the other steaks were ready.
I cut into my steak and found it to be extremely rare—far undercooked. While I had originally ordered it medium rare, the first steak had come out well done, and I didn’t want to keep going back and forth or waiting any longer. My daughter and another guest were still waiting on their re-fired meals.
When the manager returned, I tried to explain the issue with my steak, but before I could finish a sentence, he cut me off, raising his voice and refusing to let me speak—despite me remaining calm and respectful. He returned with a chart showing steak temperatures and their corresponding doneness, which I found condescending. I told him I had worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and didn’t need a tutorial—I knew what I had ordered, and it still wasn’t prepared correctly. He refused to acknowledge the issue and continued to speak over me.
By this point, the rest of our table could clearly see how rude, dismissive, and disrespectful his behavior was. We were stunned when he told us we needed to leave, despite the fact that we were still waiting on food and some of us were still eating. There was nothing in our behavior that warranted that kind of aggressive response from management.
As someone who has worked in fine dining for 15 years, I have never witnessed a manager behave like this—especially not toward calm, respectful guests. We felt humiliated, degraded, and, honestly, targeted. The only logical conclusion I can draw is that this treatment may have been racially motivated. Our table included both Black and Hispanic guests, and it truly felt like we were profiled from the moment he approached. It seemed like he had already made up his mind about us before we had the chance to speak.
I am requesting that this issue be reviewed by Texas Roadhouse’s corporate office—not the local management at the Frederick, Maryland location. I would appreciate a follow-up from someone at the corporate level to discuss this...
