Not a fan expecially after they almost killed me!!!
I decided to stop in and order a lunch to go. The gentalmen at the front hosting was very nice and helped me find something to order. I expressed to him that I have an allergy to Sesame,Peanut, treenuts, and shelfish. he then said that the singapore noodles would be a good option for me. he also assured me that he would let the chef know that I had allergies to the items listed. I sat and waited for a few minutes until my order was ready and I paid. After getting in the car, I swear I can smell sesame. I know I told them I could't have sesame, and I saw him write it in on my order( through the computer system). I began to have reactions, skin on fire, nose running, watery eyes, slight swelling in face, and worst of all trouble breathing. I took the order back to the store where this young lady asked if i was returning my order and I said yes. she then asked why, and I resposnded that the dish has sesame after I clearly said I was allergic. she then felt the need to argue with me and insisted the dish did not have sesame...AT ALL! I assurered her it did because I could smell it and I was already exibiting symptoms of an reaction. If I would have eaten that dish, I would have ended up in the hospital! another waiter goes back in the kitchen where he learns the cook may have put sesame oil in the dish?????? . I then am offered a refund and a week apology for almost killing me. then the girl who I talked to before about returning the item comes up to me and asks some stupid question about your're allergic to the oil too??? and with an attitude makes a remark about how I must have a strong since of smell. At this time the man doing my refund tells me it may take a few days for the card information to clear? meaning he attepted to wipe my transaction from the system so I would not be charged, but it wasn't a given...... horrible experiance. Called back when I was well and they said they would have to talk to the young lady about being rude... I'm not sure if I am willing to come back because of such a close call. They need to do some food allergy training with cooking ans waiting staff. when someon states they have an allergy to sesame... that...
Read moreI hate giving lower reviews, but there was finally the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Up front, we find the food delicious. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed. So why 2 stars? Because the repeated mistakes that have not gotten better.
1st instance, mistakes made during payment. It should be noted that when you dine in, be patient as service will be slow. The kitchen and staff are doing their best, but the demand just is so great. While we expect and don’t mind this, when trying to pay, I did not expect 25 minutes and multiple issues. I tried to pay for the dinner with a prepaid debit card first and the remaining on the credit card. I clearly didn’t explain this properly as the bill was divided between both cards. When trying to correct it, they removed the charge on the debit, but now that money was held up, but the waitress and I didn’t think of this and tried to charge the right amount on the debit. In the end I needed to put everything on the credit card and wait a day for the money to be available on the debit. This added an extra 25 minutes as we had to wait between each exchange and transaction.
2nd instance was a case of missing food for a pickup. I figured I would avoid the same issue that occurred last time by ordering food. I came, picked up my food and went home. When I got there they had given me someone else’s order. I came back and got the right order. Thankfully I live close, but advise everyone to double check their food before heading off if picking up from a distance.
3rd instance happened tonight. I waited again between the 2nd instance and did another pick up. I got there, had to wait a bit (didn’t mind, because again, super busy), had to remind them of the 2nd Thai ice tea and was on my way. Got home, another item was missing. Got back and found out they didn’t hear it over the phone, so I wasn’t charged and it wasn’t made. They expedited the meal and I was on my way.
There’s a lot to be said, and everyone’s experience will be different. Unfortunately for me, three strikes in a row and I’ll be taking quite a break before thinking of ordering here again.
Food is good, but please be aware to be patient and double check, otherwise you might have similar...
Read moreStopped by craving Vietnamese food passing through Frederick for work. Decided to take my break here. It was busy but not crazy. Nicer upscale ambience inside than a typical Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered bo kho with egg noodles for dine-in and green papaya salad extra spicy to-go. About $30 before tip. Portions were small. The food was decent but lacking in strength of the flavors. I needed to add a heap of chili oil in the bowl. The beef was tender—the main positive. Otherwise, very little carrot, the noodles were just okay & so little in portion, the broth wasn’t rich like I hoped. It did not come with a side plate of basil, bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño as I’m accustomed to everywhere else I had bo kho. The papaya salad was okay, but not spicy at all despite really emphasizing that I needed extra spicy. Service was okay, with a smile, but slow. I ordered immediately upon sitting down and waited the full 30 minutes of my break to receive the order, so I had to eat quickly. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant I have visited that took so long to prepare an order, especially as a single patron. If you’re in Frederick, this is probably a decent choice for Vietnamese, particularly if you want the fancier atmosphere. Otherwise, there are a number of more flavorful options elsewhere with larger portions and faster service in the Baltimore & DC...
