I have driven past this intersection of Falls Road & Northern Parkway a gazillion times and never knew this place was nestled here hiding in plain site!
Early Saturday morning visits to nurseries is becoming a thing of mine lately and itâs so calming. This place is not huge, but itâs quaint and packs a punch with its variety. I loved walking through and looking at all of the plants, trees and accessories that they have. I was told that it can be a bit pricey but I did not feel that way. It could be that I went while they were having their half off summer sale đ but a lot of the items were decently priced in my opinion. I have become low key obsessed with the Alocasia/Colocasia species since my visit to Bali last year and towards the end of my visits I spotted some nice ones on the outside of the gate, I walked outside and around and noticed that they were planted there as a part of the landscape and not in buckets for sale đ© I did ask the staff if they sold them and I was directed to an area where there were a few left but none looking like the variety planted out front. Looking for an Alocasia Diamond Head and I am sure I come across one at some point. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my visit. To be that close to a busy intersection, it surprisingly still felt like I travelled far out...
Read moreI have enjoyed my several visits to Green Fields nursery since moving to Baltimore. The selection is greatâyou get way more interesting varietals and colors than visiting your average big box garden store, and the plants themselves are incredibly healthy. Everything Iâve purchased from here has thrived, and my raised beds couldnât look any more beautiful! Yes, itâs pricey, but you get what you pay for and Iâm always happy to support local business, especially when the product is this good.
The only frustrating thing about shopping here is the lack of space. Itâs fine if youâre only going to buy a single houseplant, meander around, or maybe get a hanging basket. But thereâs hardly any space to move around, especially if youâre trying to navigate with one of their shopping cart wagons. The pathways are super narrow and built on a hill, which made me nervous that Iâd run over the many plants that are on their sidewalks or another patron! I likely would have spent an additional $100 here if it had been easier to navigate and the carts had more capacity. I just felt âin the wayâ and wanted to get the heck out of dodgeâI think Iâll save Green Fields for smaller purchases and accent florals, and go somewhere with more space for when I buy to fill up...

We canât say enough good things about our experience at Green Fields Nursery, especially thanks to Peter! After multiple failed attempts with citrus trees from big box storesâwhere we were given no guidanceâwe were honestly ready to give up. But Peter changed everything.
He was incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, and patient, taking the time to walk us through exactly how to care for our new citrus tree. He didnât just sell us a plantâhe empowered us with the tools and information to help it thrive.
This tree was especially meaningful to us, as it was an anniversary gift, and Peterâs care made the moment even more special. THIS is why you should always shop local....
