Literally do not waste your time if you have multiple children. We had 1 member of our party show up earlier and put our name down for our table since we were all meeting there. When the entire party shows up, the hostess says “oh I didn’t expect you to have so many kids.” We have 4 children, but didn’t realize that’s an issue when it comes to eating out. We asked for a table outside and for some reason, she refused and wasn’t allowed to move the tables. No big deal, we understood. However, while our waiter seemed promising, he never came to the table. He was very nice, but what’s tbe point if you never come to the table. Waiting 15 minutes for everything got old quick. The people running the food were extremely rude and it was inconvenient to ask them for hot sauce etc. At the same time, where was our waiter to be able to ask for anything we may need once the food comes out? If you check my history, I think I may have given 1 bad review ever. I typically don’t bother unless it goes terribly wrong. This was one of those instances and we definitely won’t be back. Restaurants need to be held accountable if we’re given a 20% mandatory tip on the check. And yes I did ask them to remove it for poor service, which takes me a lot to do as I’ve worked in the food industry...

On a recent lunch with one of my friends we decided to try Luna Oaxaca since I had previously seen they were open and serving brunch. We both agreed Luna Oaxaca was a good choice.

Luna Oaxaca is one of the newer restaurants in the Cross Keys center, nestled off to the side by itself. The sleek yet minimalistic decor of the interior is nice and open, and they have outside seating for those warmer days and nights. Although we went for brunch, I wasn't really in the mood for their brunchy items since most have eggs and I'm no egg eater. So, I settled on the Carne Asada tacos since tacos are always my go to when trying a new Mexican restaurant. I also ordered a side of chips & salsa to see how well they did those. The chips & salsa were pretty tasty; I could've used a bit more spice in the salsa but that's my personal taste buds. The Carne Asada tacos were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. And actually, filled with meat and pico de gallo. My friend ordered the veggie tacos and said those were quite tasty too.

I'm always on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant and Luna Oaxaca is one I'll definitely make a trip to again to try some of their other menu items. The service was good, and the food was tasty, so that's a...

I’m a bit mixed on it. The food itself was good, flavors were there, and prices are about what you’d expect for the Cross Keys area. Still, $20+ a plate felt a little questionable for what you get, especially since the menu reuses a lot of the same ingredients (kind of felt like you’re just deciding whether you want it wrapped or not). Would’ve been nice if they offered free chips and salsa too, like a lot of places in this price range do.

Service was fine overall, but the table payment system starts tips at 20%, which feels a bit pushy. The place was nearly empty when we were there, and when we asked about splitting checks, we were told they don’t normally do that and it was only allowed because they weren’t busy. Honestly, with handheld devices, it seems like pressing a couple extra buttons shouldn’t be a big deal.

The part that really rubbed me the wrong way was overhearing staff complain (with some not-so-great language) about splitting checks as they headed to the kitchen. That left a bad impression.

All in all, not a terrible experience food was decent, service wasn’t bad but between the pricing, tipping setup, and the attitude around small requests, I’m not sure if...

Fantastic new addition at Cross Keys! The food was exceptional. The guacamole was fantastic. The offer spice levels, and it was so well made with hot, fresh chips. Chicken Mole was really good, almost as good as my fave previous mole at a restaurant that I loved that closed. Ordered a side of plantains and they were the best I’ve had in a long time (fresh ripe plantain, and were cooked with a slight crust / crisp The crab quesadillas were delish, and the empanadas are as good as any I’ve had in Baltimore! About the only thing we didn’t love was that the indoor space is a bit loud and not the most comfortable. We had hoped to sit outside but it was raining. But a small thing. Overall, a home run! Highly recommended.

Happy Hour every day here 2-5 !! Went to the 1st one and it was nice. We were seated immediately. There is bar stool seating or Patio. I preferred the Patio. Our waitress Levet was a gem and was very attentive. They have a very affordable happy Hour menu with some favorites on it like the Enchiladas which were good.. Margarita's are offered at a discount. I ventured off that menu to try the made to order Guacamole, It came with warm chips which was delicious! And The Burrito Sinaloa was quite filling. If in the area try them out!
