Update 01SEP25: This place has improved dramatically since my last update. It is now my regular go to place and consistently awesome. I only go for Pedicures, but some friends in my group also get manicures... And are always satisfied. Ample supply of wine is a nice perk too. Bumped up to 5 stars.
Update 15APR24: +1 Star. Despite not replying to this review, it seems it was received and read by management. I can never remember the new managers name, but she spoke with me and apologized for offering a service they weren't able to fully provide on the last visit. The two of us both had an excellent experience and hope this holds true going forward. Update 29FEB24: since my original review, I have been here numerous times for pedicures. I really want to like this place, but the experience is so inconsistent. I have had great visits and poor visits. I'm reducing my rating by a star simply for this reason. Today was a good example why. I did not schedule and walked in. I always get deluxe pedicures because that always seems to get me more foot and calf massage time, with a bonus of numerous chemicals making my man feet nice. I was informed today only basic pedis were available, and my counterpart and I had to share the same (delightful) lady sliding back and forth working on both of us in intervals. Do I feel my basic pedi overall was bad? No. Do I feel I got my money's worth? Definitely not. I honestly would have been more impressed had they said staffing was inadequate and you should use one of the two competitors within a 2 minute walk of the place. This was my first time here. It's very close to where I live and recommended by several folks. We tried it out, but I think the error was our timing. We went late morning and the only two employees were two men. Very polite, but certainly the most basic pedi a person could expect for either of us. The upgraded "spa" pedi was not offered, and I'm glad we didn't request it as it was an extremely quick ordeal that had they of not been setting up other customers and answering phone calls, would have lasted maybe 20-25 minutes. They did say all the normal staff were out shopping, so I assume this was just husband's filling in. I will give it one more try, but my first experience was pretty...
Read moreLoved this place! This was my first gel manicure and I think Kim Day Spa will forever have my business for all other gel manicures. We walked in without an appointment and were seated promptly. The guys helping us were kind and helpful and their English was very clear. We had great communication with them. While he was starting on my nails, I showed him the time and said, "My meter runs out in 20 minutes. Do I need to go and put money in now before we get too far into this?" And he said, "I'll have you done in 19." And he did! It took exactly 19 minutes! He even let me run out and put more money on the meter before paying for my manicure. When I came back and paid, I asked if I could put a tip on my credit card (I don't carry cash or debit). He said no, unfortunately, and I felt bad because I had no way to tip him. (That would be my biggest critique: they should allow for tips on credit cards. However, they did have an ATM so that's helpful if you carry debit.) He didn't give me any hard time for it and said with a smile, "No worries. Next time." I just really liked their attitude and their willingness to work with you and not nickel and dime you. I've had my nails done at places that are very strict and Kim Day Spa was not like that at all. I am loving my manicure and will...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!!!! I have been going to Kimâs for a little over a year. My nail tech was Tammy. At first everything was great i loved my nails and i loved my service.
As time went on i began to notice how differently people of color were being treated at the salon. Longer wait times or complete denied service while the salon is still open. not offered drinks , always sent to sit in the back of the salon. i decided to take a break from the salon and had found a new place for about three months.
This week i went back and everything as back to normal. I felt refreshed but was still on the edge.
Today, Labor Day i referred my younger sister to Tammy. She got to the salon and was told that Tammy does not work there. okay, so I call the salon and Tammy answers the phone i ask if Tammy is in today and she tell me NO. so my sister then tells tammy that i referred her. Tammy tells her she doesnât take new clients ( a lie unless youre black) she then tell Tammy that she wants a pedicure only. Tammy then tells her she has an appointment ( this salon is a walk in ONLY as) i feel horrible for even sending her there
Racist and UNPROFESSIONAL
NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT BE BACK AND NEITHER...
