I want to note that the environment and staff are nice and welcoming, but I would no longer recommend for those with allergies and restrictions. I have enjoyed this place in the past (I gave it 5 stars a year ago). Today I had a bad experience. Hopefully I don't sound insufferable, because I hate to be one of those people, but...
I asked the woman at the counter to remind me which of their sides are gluten-free. She began to tell me what they had that was vegan. I clarified with her and told her that gluten-free just meant that I couldn't have wheat and a few other grains, but that I can still eat animal products, and she said that they didn't have anything that was gluten-free. I told her that I've come here in the past and wasn't told that and asked if they'd changed anything about the ingredients, and she said no. She said "did someone here tell you that there's anything gluten-free?" as if I was silly for coming in and asking. I said yes, that I'd eaten here before. I then asked if she was sure that everything had wheat and not even the meat or the Greek salad was gluten-free, and she said that they were gluten-free and laughed as if she had just forgotten or misunderstood or something. So I ordered a platter with salad and lamb, but told her no pita. She brought it out with the lamb laying partially on top of a pile of pita. :/ I know that doesn't sound like a big deal, but at that point I felt like I had I had a bad customer service and couldn't even eat the lamb because of contamination, so I was disappointed. I left my husband there to finish his meal and went to a stall in cross street. Guess my husband has leftovers now...$20 lamb leftovers 🙃 it's a shame because I think this place does have good food, and I enjoy the service and atmosphere, but I don't think I'll be back. I want to note that it's ok to say "I don't know" when a customer asks about a dietary restriction, but don't pretend like you understand and give incorrect information. I would have been much happier if she had just told me that she wasn't sure and recommended I choose elsewhere rather than pretending she knew and costing me...
Read moreThey're not cheap on the sauce or meats. Their pork yeeros (gyro) was delicious. Warning you will get the sauce all over your face and won't come up for air till you're done.
If you've never heard of French fries in gyros, here's your chance to try it. (I didn't though so no comment if it's good.)
The staff is pretty cool and don't push you to buy random extras unless you express interest first.
For everyone who likes to dodge crowds (like myself) come on weekdays around 3pm. You have the place to yourself and not worry about eating food that's just been sitting there.
If you dine in, they have 8 tables: 6 tables for a party of 4 1 table for a party of 2 1 table for a party of 1
Warning for parents with small kids: There is only ONE booster seat.
Anyway the whole restaurant is clean (seriously), including the bathroom, where it's a hit or miss.
There is a single bathroom hidden to the left counter. It's wheelchair accessible but doesn't have a changing table.
Service is also good. Been going here for at least a year and the staff is pretty cool and dont push you to buy random extras unless you express interest first.
Anyway...
Read moreStopped into Yeeros while visiting from Philadelphia. The busy Saturday afternoon bar scene felt like a frat party outside. We were so excited to step inside Yeeros, quiet, clean and welcoming.
The Fava appetizer with warm pita was fresh and delicious. The small Horiatiki Salad was well portioned and the perfect size for my “starving “ teenager. The Pork Yeero ( Gyro ) platter surprised me by its size. A lot of food for the price. More warm pita and amazingly delicious pork! More like AMAZING PORK! Crispy, tender, nicely seasoned.
They were busy with take out orders, but don’t sell yourself short, sit, relax and take in the amazing experience. The chef and owner came to our table delivering a delicious traditional Greek dessert.
It’s already on our list to stop into Yeeros next time we’re visiting....
