RACIST ESTABLISHMENT??????? full disclosure: I am a black woman. ---Wish i could give them 0 stars--
Here is what happened:
I go in to get a pedicure, all went well & the nail artist did an amazing job. After my nails were complete I am sent to a UV lamp for my nails to dry. While my nails are drying the nail artist came up to me demanding payment. I comply and give her my credit card. (* Note this is my first time at this salon and there is no explicitly listed tipping procedure. I never carry cash, and writing in my tip on the receipt has never been a problem at other nail salons that I have been to. **) so I get my receipt back and go to write in my tip amount, and the woman tells me that I need to pay the tip in cash. My toes are still wet, and I am still under the UV lamp drying, but the nail artist stands in front of me telling me to go next door to get cash. (bullying me! ) ---- Now I have no problem going to get cash, but id like to wait until my toes are at least dry before I put my shoes back on and leave.... So this woman is still standing over my shoulder and is pretty much implying that she wants me to get up NOW and get her a tip. I felt cornered and bullied, so i get up and leave to go to the rite aid next door and get cash back for a purchase. -- I LOOK OUT THE WINDOW OF THE RITE AID ADN NOTICE THAT THE NAIL ARTIST HAS FOLLOWED ME OUT OF THE SALON AND IS WAITING FOR ME OUT SIDE OF RITE AID. I get my cash from the cashier and leave to head back to the nail salon. THE NAIL ARTIST IS OUTSIDE WAITING FOR ME WITH HER HAND OUT!!!.. I cant even describe the feeling that I had. I will never enter that salon again. Ive never been treated that way in my life. Everyone needs to be treated fairly. This was the worst customer service experience that I have ever had. I cant justify her behavior in any way. I hope that they don't treat their other...
Read moreAt my 1st visit, Kenny? was impatient, but after his cigarette break he was better. Good pedicure with a very clean white french polish. Gel mani with white French was also good, but the edges were too sharp, so the nails chipped on almost all 10 fingers within a week.
I returned 4 weeks later with my teen son who just needed a classic pedi. Son was jumpy and ticklish, so when his tech realized it was his 1st (actually 3rd in his life) she became extra patient. Kenny on the other hand commented that it had been "long time pedicure manicure" so I corrected him it's only been a month AND that he was the last to do them. His coworkers laughed when I said 'that's why I'm here, 'but he didn't. I asked for an iridescent pastel, or cats eye, or chrome, all of which he claimed he didn't have. He offered white again. Funny, 2/3 of the customers asked for french white. I showed him a simple french design in other colors, but he said "nail art guy not here today." I checked the baskets and found ALL 3 I requested-- iridescent, cats eye, AND chrome colors. He spoke in Vietnamese and then said it's $15 extra. I agreed, but he clearly didn't think I would, so the manager warned me the color wouldn't last. Disappointed, I accepted and asked if he could shape my finger nails ballerina/coffin since they're basically chipped into that shape already. He said yes, THEN proceeded to overshape my short nails oval. I just accepted this loss, and told him to do what he felt comfortable doing, so he thanked me. He butchered my nails so there wasn't even enough freedege for french. Some nails have no gel on either side, others have too much. He cut my cuticle skin and I bled, he didn't massage or lotion my hands, and didnt offer me a sip of water or glass of wine, despite my $130 bill. My son could tell I was upset and told me to leave a 1 star review. I will...
Read moreI get my nails done 2-3 times a year usually for a wedding or other special occasion and I always stick to a simple gel manicure. I guess I’ve been lucky because I’ve never had a bad manicure experience. To the point where I saw some of the reviews before walking in last minute and thought it can’t be that bad. It really was that bad. I walked in on a Saturday and there was no wait so I picked my color and was quickly shown to a station. Everything is going well and then I start looking around more and notice all the dust EVERYWHERE and realize that their equipment doesn’t look clean. I asked that they don’t cut my cuticles and hope it goes by quickly. The UV LED lamp machine is dirty on the outside and the inside. I noticed that a bug was crawling on my thigh and ask the nail tech if he could flick it off and he just laughed. So I take it off and kill it on his counter. I’m rushing to leave at this point. This experience cost me $45. I’m in a hurry and don’t notice the disappointing job he’s done. I go back in and show him some spots where there was polish missing and polish on my skin. He does some touch ups but isn’t getting what I’m pointing out. I ask for him to leave the bottle because at this point I should be doing it myself. He tries to fix the spots instead and leaves me with UV light. At one point he asks if it’s my first time with gel nails and I tell him no. Now I don’t actually know a lot about the difference in the polish but it felt much thinner than what I’m used to and anticipate it will chip quickly but I could be wrong. So this is what it looks like...
