Menards is a massive store. Good chance you'll find what you need though not the best place for flooring from my past experience. What turns me off is their unabashed selling the 11% rebate on supposedly everything. The 11% is not a cashback. It is a store credit only. And the method of sending it is by design so cumbersome that often it is not worth it. Has to be only by mail, no app or web-based option. And that means, for smaller purchases is it even worth a first class postage and envelope each time? They capitalize on this and many people like me never send one in. It is a total scam.
Update dt: 2025-07-28 - One can see that Menard's posted a response to my review. First of all, you will see that Menard's provides an e-mail with the wrong spelling of Menard's (manards) so, if you were to respond to that e-mail, it will simply never reach them. Now then, it could just be a typo. But it is not. So, I read through many similar reviews on Google Maps. They all read the same, often with the same mistakes of e-mail address spelling. It makes it actually clear and not ambiguous that Menard's post boiler-plate responses, since the spelling of Menards is almost always wrong (manards). Which makes me believe they are actually copy/paste of pre-written responses, or, someone does not know how to spell. Only the team leader name is changed, and in my case it seems it is April.
Of note, I did send them an email by correcting the obvious mistake on their spelling on my end. It did not bounce back, but by the intrinsic embedded tracking mechanism I know that the July 24th email is not even opened on their end, and I have not received any reply on how they propose to "discuss this" as they have posted on this review. Today, instead of responding to my e-mail, I see they have gone in and corrected the spelling of their store name within the e-mail address. So, someone did do that. But will they respond to my e-mail? Time will tell.
Either ways, I do not know how many people who were critical of the 11% rebate offer who received their wrong e-mail address response from the store, but I do know that Menard's has a history of this obfuscation for a long time. I have reviewed Menard's history and am aware of previous law suits on this, though they were dismissed on technicality. I am tracking this on my own, as I spend money there, but given this false advertising, they are NOT my go-to store except for when I have no choice or am in a hurry. Till date, I have not received any rebate to my submissions, and there is no viable way to track that because their rebate website does not even find my submission. They provide a website but it appears useless since my submission is unacknowledged so far. It's been over 6 weeks that I mailed my first rebate form, and the website says no status results found. Which tells me that I will never see it likely. If I do, I will update this review. However, it is a sham, is the best I can tell if I have to wait 6-8 weeks for each...
Read moreUpdate: The manager of the location has been extremely helpful. After my comment, I was notified and given his email. I sent him the comment that I left. He investigated the interaction of when I spoke with customer service and looked up the receipts. He made sure that I was taken care of and returned my money. He has been more than helpful. Therefore, I have changed my rating to a 5. Just remember, when you order something online, you may get charged a restocking fee. So, be prepared. Thank you, Joel, for being so helpful.
DO NOT order anything online. We saw a fireplace in the store that we wanted but did not have our truck. A couple of days went by and we remembered the sale was ending. So, we jumped online and bought it. Then a few days later, we were in the store again and saw a different one that was more than perfect for our space. We went to customer service to find out what we could do since we had not taken possession of the first one. We were told we could return the first one, no problem. What they neglected to tell us is that there was a $150 restocking fee! I argued that it didn't say that online and the rep said that it does but it is in super fine print. What a horrible practice! After this purchase, they won't get our business again and it's sad because we are preparing to remodel our kitchen, gameroom and laundry room. I am super angry if you can't tell. Thanks for nothing! We have been shopping here since they opened. Oh well, we...
Read moreBuyer beware! I would give less than 1 star if I could. We ordered a bathtub in June online to pick up in store. The bathtub ended up being backordered and we did not receive it until October 17. When my husband got it home, he took it out of the box to install it. When I looked the bathtub over, I saw it was clearly damaged and repaired. You can see in the pictures at the edge of the tub that the paint has been repaired. We immediately repacked the bathtub and returned it back to the store. We dealt with the manager Alec (who has since switched stores). He said we could not receive a refund because it was “out of the 90 day refund window,” granted we had just received it that same day due to being backordered. My husband argued this and they said they would have to have the refund approved through corporate. It is now December 28 and we have yet to receive our refund. We have called and spoke with management multiple times and get the same “we are waiting for corporate to approve it.” I called myself requesting to speak with a manager on Dec 22 and a message was taken twice that he would return my call and I have yet to receive a return call. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would never ever purchase anything...
