This family-owned and operated non-profit museum and learning Center is located in the heart of Bartow, Florida. Curator Robert Luster agreed to give my family and I a tour when we visited from MIA for Christmas. With love and conviction, Mr. Luster shared with us the history of Africans living and expressing freely on that continent to the time of enslavement in “the land of the free, ” and of their descendants during the periods afterwards to modern times. The museum’s artifacts, photographs, newspaper articles and so on are wonderfully on display, making the best of the limited space. It’s neatly sectioned off by topics including a dedication to military veterans.
