The pizza here is my favorite in Bartow by a longshot. Their sausage is especially good as is the pepperoni. They've got a large variety of really good pizza. The chicken Caesar salad is great too to the point I often order it instead of pizza. The bread sticks and garlic knots are the best I've had anywhere.
The service is great too. Even when the place is packed to the rafters you get your food quick. The guy that runs it seems to really take pride in his establishment and always says hello. My co-workers and I have been going here for years and he knows all of us at this point.
Fair warning though at 12 on a week day it gets crowded. It's near the courthouse and brings in most of the people in that area for lunch. Popularity is something they have in spades.
Edit:. I wanted to add that I've tried the wings a few times now. They've changed for the better. They are super crisp, and even the sauces are better. I'm not sure whether I like the garlic butter parmesan or hot wings better at this point. It's a struggle to choose. The pricing on them is great too. They are a dollar or so cheaper than other places for 10. I'm a big fan of wings and they have...
Read moreWe are traveling for Hurricane Relief Work and were deployed here after spending time in Valdosta, Georgia so we were excited to try new places.
Price: Excellent prices for the amount of food you get.
Food: We ordered an extra large pizza, half pepperoni, half ham and mushroom. We also got the parmesan 6 piece bread rolls and ranch. The pizza was alright, definitely not the best I’ve ever had. My husband said he believes that the mushrooms are from a can which instantly turned him off. They did appear so. There wasn’t enough pepperoni on the pizza. I’d like to have a piece in every bite but that wasn’t the case. The garlic bites were alright. They were probably the best part of the meal honestly.
Service: There is no parking downtown so we had to park quite a ways away and walk to pick up our order. My husband assumed everything was there because they checked the box before handing it to us. Unfortunately and I think this is the fault of both the restaurant and us, we did not have the bites or the ranch so we had to walk all the way back to get those.
I’m pretty sure we won’t eat here again and just continue to try other restaurants...
Read moreAttention pizza lovers and connoisseurs of fine Italian fare! I found myself in Bartow today, courtesy of jury duty (yes, the things we do for civic duty!), and stumbled upon Palace Pizza. This gem was recommended by neighbors and lauded by Google reviews, so expectations were high, but oh, did they deliver!
The New York-style pizza here isn’t just good; it’s a crust above the rest. It transported me back to the cherished days of Guy’s Pizza in my old New Jersey shopping plaza. For anyone familiar with that gold standard, you know that’s no small feat. And for those who never had the pleasure, let’s just say you missed out—until now.
Central Floridians, it’s worth the drive, even if it’s an hour by Florida standards. The pies here have the magical ability to erase any memory of traffic jams and turnpike tolls. I skipped the pasta this time (a tough call, given the tantalizing plates at adjacent tables), but I did eye the cannolis with envy that bordered on betrayal—yes, they looked that good.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a...
