My family stopped in to get some comics. I have 5 children and I often get looks of concern because there are so many. But my children are very well behaved. They are quiet in the store, do not yell or run around or beg. The young girl behind the counter was watching us like a hawk from the moment we walked in. She did not smile and did not offer any help. She did, however, snap at my child for touching the glass on a display case- literally within a millisecond of her touching it- WHILE I was standing right next to her and literally about to correct her myself. When I told her that I'm standing right here and I was about to tell her to not touch the glass, she proceeded to argue her case. I assured her that my children were being very well behaved- they were very quiet and respectful the entire time- and then I felt so uncomfortable we ended up leaving without purchasing anything. We've been to many comic book stores and I understand that there are expensive things in the store. My children have been taught and they are also still learning. Had I, at 38 yrs old, touched the glass, I guarantee should would not have jumped on my case. Children should be treated with respect and kindness too. Especially when they've done nothing wrong. And when she saw that she had offended me, as a customer, she should have changed her attitude and been a little less...

Great shop! The owners are very friendly and accommodating and the quality of their products is outstanding. It's also the cheapest place in Polk County to buy Magic The Gathering booster packs (Walmart and Target now charge $4.18 a pack and Mainstreet only charges $3.99 and if you have a subscription you get an extra 10% off of that price). The shop carries a wide variety of products in stock and also will order items for you whenever they can. New comics arrive every Wednesday and if you sign up for a subscription service they will pull your comics for you and have them waiting when you arrive (did I mention a 10% discount off of anything in the store for having a subscription?). This is a great shop for the local comic collector and worth the trip for those from Orlando and Tampa areas. They have tons of back issues and all the latest books. Well stocked with toys and other collectables too.

The shop is ran by the owner and his family and they couldn't be any nicer. If you find yourself in the central Florida area you should do yourself a favor and make a trip to Bartow for this shop. One of the best hidden gems in...
