Hacienda Mexico — Restaurant in Bartow

Awful Mexican food and the waitresses are extremely rude. They had a child running around in the restaurant throwing a paper airplane. I was the only customer in there. First time coming as well. No one greeted just asked if I was dining in or outside. Once I said in she said air where ever you’d like. The vibe in the restaurant was not welcoming at all. Had to interrupt a conversation just to ask for napkins. No one checked in on me after the food was served. Oh and food is subpar by the way and there is another Mexican restaurant around the corner that has much better food. Anyway I asked for my check early before finishing up my food. Didn’t know I had to stop eating and pay because I asked for my check early. The waitress then kept coming over and asking how I wanted to pay. I asked for a box and she bought it back. She then asked again and I asked if I could finish eating my taco before paying and then she proceeded to get loud with me and start making all these hand movements in my face. Once I returned her energy then her coworkers came to her rescue and tried to diffuse the situation but instead of getting their unprofessional and rowdy coworker, they decided to come at me. Didn’t know it was a rule you had to leave once you got your check. Will never return to this establishment. Had already not planned on returning because the food was not good but the horrible customer service was the icing...

I love Mexican restaurants but this place was a disappointment today. I tried Hacienda Mexico a bout a year or so ago for the first time. The food was ok but nothing special to remember, I was the only customer at the time and service was even slow that day. I didn't care to eat there again after that but today I was taking my mom out to lunch for her birthday and she wanted to try it even though she knew about my previous experience there so I figured to give it a second chance. We should have gone somewhere else. The menu I received had salsa all on the front of it. My drink cup was very dirty and had food bits all around the rim of the cup so I declined a drink after seeing that. The steak fajitas I had were good and I was given a good portion of the meat and sides. My mom had the shrimp enchilada plate but she mentioned there was an odd taste to them however she finished them anyways, although it made her sick afterwards. Being someone who has worked in restaurants and doesn't complain much when I go out to eat, I understand that nothing's going to be perfect, nor do I expect it to be but the issues today were just sloppy and irresponsible and the reason for my review. On the bright side our server was friendly, attentive and apologetic but next time I will avoid...

We go to this place every Tuesday when they play bingo in Spanish and English. The Owner is working the front of the house and it's pretty smoothly run. The food is always the same delicious flavors common to us all. Bartow is getting some super places to eat and enjoy what this pretty town offers. Back to Hacienda. The tamals are the best I have ever had in my life. The big nachos are wonderful to eat and the best thing is they want you to be happy when you leave and when you come back. Don't waste your time at chain store food. Go to this Mom and Pop help support this wonderful place enjoy the food and the atmosphere of small town flair. They have a dining room outside under some big trees shading the patio. They have wonderful and fun daily special during the week. I hope to see you there every Tuesday.
