Way overdue for a vacation, my wife and I decided to take a trip to Disney World. Thanks to, and along with some friends who are DVC members, we choose Boardwalk Villas as our destination. The first selling point is the location. Both Epcot and Hollywood Studios are in walking distance (Hollywood Studios a slightly longer walk), and the Boardwalk offers boats to each as well. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs are all reachable by bus, located immediately in front of the resort. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. We had a one room villa, which has a queen bed, a sofa that is also a queen sized pullout, and a pull-down underneath the television that would be suitable for one person. Our small but cozy balcony faced the parking lot, but the view was saved by some trees planted in between. The room has the standard microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and a kitchen sink. The one minor negative would be that because of how large the resort is, the walk to the rooms can be quite long, which might be a bit frustrating after a long day in the parks. It's important to keep in mind that's going to be an issue with any of the resorts, however. There are several dining options on the Boardwalk, including the fantastic sit down Flying Fish, which we enjoyed for a special dinner. There are walk-up options as well, including pizza, a deli, a coffee shop, and the all-important margarita stand. There is also a piano bar, Jellyrolls; the Atlantic Dance Hall; and the magic-themed Abracadabar. The Boardwalk also has a gift shop and a sundries store, an arcade, workout room, laundry facilities, and a couple of pools - one of which is home to a carousel-themed bar, Leaping Horse Libations. Some evenings there are entertainers on the Boardwalk, and some old-school boardwalk games are available. Like most places at Disney World, every cast member we dealt with was a delight, from wait staff, to custodial staff, to bell services, to the managers. The resort sits across the lagoon from Beach and Yacht club, which means their amenities are easily available to Boardwalk guests. I highly recommend Beachs and Cream for ice cream. We've already discussed returning again in a few years, and while I'm sure the other resorts are equally wonderful, we found Boardwalk had everything we could want, and it's highly likely we'll choose to stay there again.

Stayed at the Boardwalk for a recent vacation. Pretty good hotel. You can tell they’ve done renovations more than once...but they did a great job because it looks nice. My room had a tub with jets, a shower, a kitchenette, and two balconies (one off the living room and another off the master bedroom). Room service left something to be desired in terms of food quality. But the exceptional service from the staff made up for any shortcomings. I’d say the service from the hotel staff is better than what you’d receive at a major four-star resort chain. The pools are fantastic, especially the one with the giant slide. Plenty of life jackets of all sizes, pool towels, and attentive lifeguards. To me it felt like one of the safest pools I’ve ever taken my children to. The boardwalk area is nice - particularly at night. Though I’ve found that not all establishments on the boardwalk will accept the MagicBand for payment. It’s a very short and convenient walk to Epcot. My only real complaint was that when we arrived around Noon we found only two restaurants open and they were all filled with adults drinking and watching a sports event on television. Not what I’d hoped for when arriving from the airport with young, hungry children. We would definitely stay here again although we may try one of the nicer resort hotels next time.

This resort was pretty. We stayed on the villas side. The room was not amazingly clean like I'd come to expect but it was okay. There was no linen service which was surprising. We were here for 5 days, I expected at least once to have it done. I tried extending my stay by 1 day and they told me they couldn't do that until the day before and then there wouldn't be any guarantee they'd have a room. I didn't care if I stayed in the same hotel or not so they offered to downgrade me at the same price and then charge me for another day which I wasn't About to pay more for another day at a downgraded room, if I'm downgrading I should be paying less for that room and essentially getting almost another day free after 5 days. There is nothing really special about these rooms. Mine is about a quarter mile walk away from the front desk and overlooks the hot tub. And a tree. Overall my experience hasn't been bad, but service I was expecting from a Disney property has been lacking. It seems that Disney isn't what it used to be. Everyone told me that they will take care of you and all the promotion videos I watch show that, but that magical essence has not been found. I've been on my own with my kid. So beware. You may be better off to go yourself and fend for yourself rather than have Disney fend for you.

I'm really happy we are DVC owners so that we have an opportunity to stay at an Epcot area resort. Otherwise we would not be able to afford to stay here as prices per night are completely out of our budget. $$$$ With that being said the resort and views at Boardwalk are absolutely gorgeous. We loved sitting by the fireplace each night after a long day at the park. Boat access was top notch! Our biggest complaint at the resort was not having a quick service warm breakfast option to get a Bounty platter (eggs bacon waffle). Your quick breakfast options were pastries, bagels, sandwiches. Other than that, considering the studio points are similar to our home resort Old key West we will more than likely wait-list to stay here at Boardwalk from now on. If you frequent Disney then DVC ownership is the way to go. Tip for Dvc owners ~Don't forget to stop by the DVC desk for your free Dvc slider for your magic bands!! All you need is proof of membership.

This is the closest Disney resort to Epcot. It is within walking distance or a short boat ride. It also is close to the Skyliner that connects to the Riviera Resort and the Caribbean Beach Resort. The boat that stops in front of this resort will also take you to the Yacht Club Resort, The Swan and Dolphin Resorts and the Hollywood Studios theme park. This beautifully themed resort takes you back in time to the an early 1900's beach front boardwalk resort with it's vintage decor. It is very tastefully done and gives it an upscale feel. Most of the rooms have great views of the waterways and nearby resorts. If you need a quick coffee or tea you can find this at the Carousel Coffee near the lobby. The boarwalk has a great selection of restaurants that offer great food and drinks. There also are stores that offer art, souvenirs, snacks, clothings and many other mementos and activities.
