I honestly wouldn't recommend this place unless you're specifically looking for one of their signature cocktails. The Conjurita I had was really good and it was cool to see it change color in front of me.
Unfortunately, my drink was the only part of my visit that didn't disappoint me. The theming is pretty well done, but lacking in Disney Magic. Having been to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, I kind of went in to AbracadaBar hoping it would have a more immersive theme. Sure, there are lots of cool things on the wall, but seeing as this is Disney, they could've made the artifacts and such do something interesting to appear magical. They do have 4 video screens with posters for magic shows that I suspect are supposed to do something occasionally, but only one of those video screen posters actually seemed to do anything.
The waitress played into the theme of the bar very well as every time we needed something, she would disappear. When we went, the place was maybe 20% full, with tons of available seating everywhere. It still took over 2 hours to get 2 rounds of drinks and a charcuterie platter. We only saw our waitress once every half hour at most, and the waitress she was training once every 15-20 minutes at most. It really felt like our waitress was trying to see exactly how much she could ignore without making us walk out.
Honestly, Disney has much better bars throughout property that you should go to instead of this one. I would only recommend this place if you want one of their signature cocktails. Even then, be sure to sit at the bar so that the bartenders are right in front of you and you don't have to wait forever...
Read moreWalked in and asked a server if we needed to see a hostess or seat ourselves and she replied seat yourselves and she cleaned off a bar top along the back wall for us where there were already menus placed. We sat there for at least 10 minutes while servers walked past us and said nothing. We saw another table that someone had just got up from so we moved over to that one in hopes of getting a waitress. When we moved the female bartender kept staring over at us with a snarky look on her face...almost like she thought it was funny that we couldn't get any service. We sat and waited again for over 10 minutes as we watched another couple walk in and asked if they could seat themselves. They were told they could and they sat next to where we were sitting the 1st time. We watched the waitress take their drink order and walk right by us without saying a word. It seems like a casual place as there was no dress code posted so we felt we were fine in casual attire. We did just finish a full day at one of the Disney Parks and we were wearing casual pants and t-shirts. Maybe they presumed we weren't going to spend enough money or tip well and they chose to ignore us. I can say this...they lost out and we are happy we didn't stay after looking at the reviews for this place. We tip more than the average person and my money was better spent somewhere else. The female bartenders presence was neither warm or welcoming and came off as...
Read moreThe first time we ate at Abracadabar it was amazing! The food (made to order vegan truffle fries & margherita pizza with toffuit ricotta) & drinks were outstanding!! The bathroom was spotless & smelled so good! There was cast member meticulously clean during our visit. Dylan was our server & was awesome! He was very friendly, interactive & knowable about vegan eats around Disney World.
Our second visit to Abracadabra was not as great. Katie was our server. She wasn't overly friendly & seem annoyed by our vegan requests. We observe her clean the tables after guests would leave with just a dry napkin, no disinfectant spray like Dylan. Overall, it was a decent experience but not something I wanted to go back to but the food & drinks were worth a third visit.
On our third visit we ordered drinks & food directly from the bartender. I witnessed Katie dig olives out of a cup behind the bar to serve someone - no gloves, just bare fingers!! Gross!! We made awkward eye contact as she rushed off with the olives in her hand. On our next visit I would prefer not to have Katie as our server. We will order food from the neighboring restaurant to go and get drinks directly from the bartender. The bartender was friendly but a bit unknowledgeable about the menu items and modifications which he then joked about but, the order was put...
