The whole week equipment was used to smooth out the sand. In doing so they only covered ALL the dangers of huge rocks, 2x4’s, dead fish a plenty and hog heads, and yes I said hog heads. Take care in walking as you may fall as I did not knowing these MANY things were barely covered enough to be unable to see but easy to trip over. Were 2!of my dogs sick because of the rotting death that had been there at least one full week? Why can’t they pick these things up once a week at least if they daily run the tractors, yes plural, over the sand since they were there daily anyway. Very disappointed. There's nothing like a "boardwalk" or like amusements but if you want a nice day at the beach in close proximity to New Orleans- this is it! Few nice looking little restaurants in the main drag of the town. Worth a visit if you are in the neck...

Waveland has a much better, well-kept beach area .... not far from this one, so I would recommend Waveland over Bay st.louis because Bay St. Louis only seem to care about the bars and drinking rather than focusing on families enjoying their beach🤷🏼♀️ guess they need a change in their governing body priorities...
