I placed my order online and received my confirmation number. I live just over a mile from this restaurant so I've driven by a few times since I moved here. I arrived and seen there was a hostess station and a cashier station. I want to inform you that I'm handicapped and walk with a cane with difficulty, it should be noted that there aren't any seats while waiting. I went to the cashiers station and waited ten minutes before I was even acknowledged. Two parties came to the cashiers station and were taken immediately. It was obvious that they were regulars. It was another five minutes before their transaction was completed with the joking that transpired. My order finally came out and I took it to my house and passed the food out to find that my granddaughters entire food order was missing. I got back into the car and drove back and had to wait just over ten minutes to be acknowledged, in let them know that my order was missing the side order of rice and the beef chalupa was missing. The cashier said that the missing part of my order would be right up. Another five minutes passes when she comes out with a bag. The bag was light so I checked inside and found out that the chalupa was still missing. Another fifteen minutes passes when my food finally comes out. I took the food home only to discover that they forgot the meat and it was ice cold. My dinner was also ice cold because it was fifty minutes since I received it because of their error. Shrimp taste disgusting after being put into a microwave they turn into rubber. This was my first and last visit because i'm a firm believer in "FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE LASTING IMPRESSIONS AND YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO MAKE...
Read moreI came in with my mom and husband on January 9th for lunch for my birthday. The food was good but from the minute we sat down our server, Carlos, was rushing us to order even though we were still waiting on my mom and told him that. Once she arrived he rushed us again to order which was fine because it was Tuesday and we all just wanted tacos. We did not ask for anything extravagant and were completely nice yet everytime Carlos gave us obviously dirty looks and walking away shaking his head. He took the plate from under my husband as he was still finishing his last bite. We asked for more chips and salsa and he threw them on the table and walked away. He never asked how we wanted the check so when he brought it all together and I asked him to split hi didn’t say a word and walked away, again shaking his head. My mom also has congestive heart failure so before leaving we used the restroom and she had to stop and sit back in the chair at our table for a few moments to catch her breath. Carlos was very obviously annoyed by this and did not try to hide it. Even IF I feel the need to patronize El Toro again it would not be this location. Carlos needs serious training on how to treat people while working a SERVICE job. Not sure if it’s because my husband is black or because my mom is disabled, but I’m smelling discrimination. Basically ruined my whole birthday lunch with his horrible attitude. We couldn’t have felt...
Read moreEl Toro at Dayton-Xenia & N Fairfield. Food was good. Honestly, we went for Taco Tuesday. We are not drinkers so we just got water. The moment Sandra realized we were only getting water & tacos her smile faded. We almost had to beg for extra water and had to flag her down to get napkns. She frowned when we asked for addl salsa & chips & she took almost a 1/2 basket of chips out from under my husband's hand! REALLY? I realize they make their $ off drinks but we have a right to food too. We were there last week and I left the waitress over a $6 tip, she was sooo nice (wish I had gotten her name). This waitress got a $2.39 tip b/c of her attitiude, and was lucky for that! When she brought the bill we were finishing our chips & salsa. I didn"t hurry to get my card out. She was back in just a few minutes, "You ready to pay now?" No.... I need a few minutes please. She actually had enough nerve to stand there and stare at me and look at the bill! I went ahead and got my card out and handed it to her. She was back quick and handed the final slips to my husband, ignoring me, when she had seen ME get the card out and I handed it to her. We'll come back once more and if service is like that again... no more. Hopefully, this was a one off. First time was great food AND service. This time good food but HORRIBLE...
