I dined at Hello Thai, and the food was spectacular, but the service caught me off guard! After relishing my meal, I paid using the Apple Pay barcode on the receipt. The waiter, visibly upset, demanded to see my bill, focusing on the tip. "Why didn't you tip me?!" With confusion, I offered to tip through a new transaction, but she insisted on revisiting the previous receipt.
By the way, I paid with my international business or travel card, which doesn't allow adjustments after the initial payment to prevent scams. This means if I tip with my card, the bank won't charge me for the tip since tips are added later after the initial payment. Frustrated, I couldn't find an option to add a new tip or adjust the payment.
Feeling trapped, I assured her by saying “Okay.” As I exited, she followed me onto the street, loudly accusing, "You don't tip, and don't come again!" I couldn't help but think her service wasn't special, and any fast-food joint could provide the same level of service without asking for a tip. Ironically, she emphatically recommended another Thai restaurant down the street.
Leaving the restaurant, I was totally caught off guard by the uncool vibe. The whole "You don't tip, don't come again" drama on the street was just not cool. I mean, seriously, who does that? The service at Hello Thai wasn't anything to write home about, and this whole unprofessional scene was the icing on the cake. I'm definitely not going back to a place that can't keep it chill and treat customers with some...

She did not wash her hands or sanitizer or gloves prior to packaging the food after being in the cash register with dirty money, she was also on her cell phone and she was standing in the front eating her own lunch. I watched her wipe her mouth rub her nose and Touch her face and then she proceeded to package the food and put forks that were not wrapped in plastic inside the to go bag. Another lady came in with food from Panera bread and stood in the front by the register eating her food, and then proceeding to help package the to go order she did not wash her hands or sanitize them or wear gloves either, after being outside the restaurant, and just returning from her trip to Panera bread. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai, which I bought home and reheated for my own sanitary reasons. It was not very good. The noodles were very clumpy. However, the shrimp did not taste bad, but they were only a few shrimp in the container. Also had an order of spring rolls which were very bland and didn’t have any seasoned taste to them. I will not be going back for both reasons. If what I saw in front of me was that unsanitary I can only imagine what goes on in the back that the public cannot see and the food just...
Read moreUnfortunately, we're very disappointed and concerned regarding an issue we’ve now experienced twice with your vegan curry.
My family has truly loved your food and regularly chosen Hello Thai as one of our go-to restaurants. However, for the second time, we found pieces of chicken in a dish that was specifically ordered as vegan. I’ve included photos to help illustrate what we found most recently.
We first reached out via Facebook Messenger a couple weeks ago, but unfortunately haven’t received a response. I've tried emailing and received no response. I was hoping to address this directly before turning to public platforms, but I'm not sure what else to do.
I understand things can get busy, but after this second incident, and no responses, I felt it was important to provide feedback.
We have always appreciated the care that seemed to go into your dishes and the fact that you offered vegan options we could trust. But after this repeated mistake, that trust is broken, and it’s incredibly disheartening.
I hope you’ll take this seriously and look into what might be going wrong in your kitchen process. Mistakes happen, but when it comes to dietary needs, whether for ethical, religious, or health reasons, accuracy and...
