We are members (10yr old and 6yr old) and have been regulars for close to a year and a half. Objectively, there are reasons why this place is good, and why it’s bad, and they’ll mean different things to different people:
The good - It’s the only place of its kind nearby. If you’re on the west side, it’s you’re only real indoor adventure park of significant scale and variety. Soooo, they get points for being a first mover and coming to the area. When things are kept up and refreshed, the stations can be very fun, safe, and innovative. The variety is great. My smaller 6yr old and my 10yr old both have plenty of things to do for their size, ability, etc.
The bad - They seem to exclusively hire older high school and early 20’s kids; I’ve literally never seen an adult employee here in dozens of visits. I don’t mind teenagers working at Dairy Queen, there’s generally an adult manager. But it’s weird here. I can’t trust these kids to actually know basic first aid procedures, emergency processes, etc. They also poorly manage the front end, and clumps of them will stand around forever while a single teen works a dozen deep queue to sign in. And while they maintain something like 3 or 4 roamers on the floor watching things, between the AirPods in their ears and the completely obvious apathy towards the work, I have no doubt they’re missing tons of stuff. The place is not clean. Ever. The bathrooms are filthy. I have no idea what that means for areas like the foam pit. I just kinda have to hold my nose and assume my kids re getting their immune systems tested for the better jumping in to the staff infection pit. This is periodic/seasonal, but there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason on which implements are shut down or turned off. There’s a large white slide which I’ve literally never seen operational in 18mos. There’s a jumping swingarm station which is the same. The foam out has its launch pads swapped out constantly. If your kid has a favorite implement, don’t count on it sticking around. Lastly, it’s expensive. The monthly plan for 2 kids is ~$65 a month. I’m sure it’s like a gym membership where they budget/assume some percent of people will be frequent fliers and some will underutilize their membership. Still, with all the above, I have a hard time groking the price versus the product. If I could see the dollars going towards better staff or cleaner facilities it would make me feel better. As is, the cost is a reason I would bolt if something better came along.
All in, my kids like the place. And again, they get “necessary evil” points for being the only thing going in the area. If something cleaner/better/more well staffed opened up, I’d definitely consider...
Read moreWe recently held my daughter's birthday party at Sky Zone, and I wanted to share our experience. The booking process itself was straight forward but I have to say, some things were not made clear to me, and the day-of instructions were never provided upfront, so I learned on the fly while we were onsite.
First off, this place was a ZOO. I mean, it was wall to wall chaos. While I knew open jump would be happening at the same time, I would've thought there are jumper limits, but I can assure you, that wasn't the case. I told the staff this the day of and I'm saying it here: had anyone conveyed how crazy it was expected to be I NEVER would have booked. Following up on the chaos, there was no monitoring by the staff regarding safe behavior. I understand we all sign waivers that injuries in these types of places happen, but I saw MULTIPLE kids walking off sobbing because they were injured by another kid, and no one was monitoring this. One of our kids got hit in the face by a dodgeball, thrown at him by an older boy who was only a foot away, broke his glasses and injured his eye. The bathrooms were absolutely atrocious. Not normally someone who notices or complains but there was toilet paper EVERYWHERE, no soap in the dispensers and no paper towels. In the two hours we were onsite, the bathrooms were not cleaned once. I called multiple times the day before and the day of, trying to add a couple pizzas to my order. No one answered or responded to my voicemails. I ordered them onsite the day of. I then confirmed the order at check-in. I followed up twice at the concession stand after our party time started, never received them. Finally, they gave me a pizza off the warmer, which I don't even know if it was from my order or what, but we never got the additional pizzas. The party before us stayed over their time, so I was given ten minutes to get in and set up, not the 30 I was told. I had to ask to be let in because our jump time was coming to an end I needed to prep the room. The floor of the party room was disgustingly sticky.
We've been here a couple times at off peak times and the kids love it but after Saturday's experience we will not be back. I can handle some chaos and there were a couple staff members who were definitely helpful, but overall such a poor experience especially when trying to coordinate a birthday party for my daughter. I never even made it out to watch her jump because I felt like I couldn't leave the cart with her gifts / our guest's bags sitting...
Read moreI would NOT recommend spending the money to come here. This place has not been open long and it’s absolutely FILTHY. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and out of paper towels and toilet paper in nearly every stall. A tampon was hanging on one of the doors in the womens bathroom- gross! It’s clear there’s little to NO cleaning done. Considering it’s a Monday and there’s about 10+ staff members just standing around and talking and it’s absolutely DEAD right now…. I guess I just don’t understand why it’s this way. Cafe is closed and kids are hungry/thirsty. Thank goodness we brought our own snacks in the car everywhere we go. We were charged for an extra pair of socks we didn’t even need… but since it’s only $3.50 it wasn’t worth making a big deal but everything adds up to the total unprofessional atmosphere and horrible customer service. Nobody even bothered to ask about waivers and if you actually read them they are a little nerving… but it makes sense because kids could definitely get hurt here if not watched by parents. The staff does nothing if rules aren’t followed. They just stand and talk to each other so parents to really really watch your kids no matter what age (they recommend watching kids 6 and under intently) if you’re a parent that is typically laid back and let the kids free- we have littles so we don’t have that luxury anyways but other parents beware of that. Staff members were pretty rude and overall unfriendly when we asked about food or alternative bathrooms when our toddler had to pee and their restrooms were closed- they said “yeah sorry” and clearly they don’t understand little kids when they have to go to the bathroom it’s pretty urgent…. We have been very kind when letting them know it was our first time here and did everything online… they said nothing to us and just started getting wrist bands and asked if we needed socks (which remember we were overcharged)…. Just not the welcoming or professional attitudes you would expect for a place like this. Spent over $100 to come here and check it out today (for 3adults and one 4 year old)…. For the amount of money v. What you get… it’s really not worth it. We really aren’t picky people at all and I don’t write reviews ever- but I feel like it would make me upset if I were a parent that spent this amount of money and had a similar experience…We are sticking to whippersnappers in Sandy! :) cheaper, super clean, and very...
