I discovered this place about 2 years ago before they moved to their current (more convenient) location. They were already one of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants in the area, so you can imagine my excitement when they moved down the street from my work! The service is great, the workers are very friendly. I absolutely love the food here, everything is fresh, made to order, and priced right. You can see the gyro and shawarma spits cooking and turning while you watch them prepare your food. They serve gyros on a very thin pita bread (almost like tortilla thin) which is quite good. Not sure if this style pita bread originates from a certain country or not, but I have had it at few other gyro places and it does hold together better than the "puffier" pitas. I believe you can sub the thin pita out for a "puffy" pita, don't quote me on that though. They are usually packed around lunch time so expect a bit of a wait, but once you have their food you'll understand why.
One thing I would like to add is the bad reviews for this place are for the wrong business. They don't and never did serve alcohol here. As someone who reads the reviews for places I visit, it's a shame to see a rating brought down (however minor it may be) because someone didn't take the time to make sure they were reviewing the correct place. Pay...
Read moreI told them I'm allergic to hot sauce and they carelessly spilled hot sauce on the inside of the gryo wrapper touching the food. They claim none got INSIDE the gyro. Uh, there shouldn't be any ANYWHERE near my food. Understand!?!
They refunded me but not without some attitude. Pay attention!! It's MY health NOT yours. obviously you dont care, well sorry but I'm NOT RISKING IT.
EDIT: in response to the owner who posted a petty reply: You are not only careless and have a bad temper, but now you respond with trivial irrelevancies. The sauce was on the food. How hard is that for you to understand? I am allergic to it. It was on my food. So I should eat it then? Is that what you want? Makes no difference if it was on or inside the wrap. No need to open the wrap after seeing hot sauce on the gyro anywhere! Right, how dare I not want to consume food that has something Im allergic to on it. Hahaha sure. Also, it wasn't a "little" drop. It was the size of a quarter but even a "little" bit would cause me problems. Thanks for publicly showing that you really do not care.
May I suggest you focus on creating a more sanitary and clean food preparation area where random ingredients do not spill into peoples food? Really shows the lack of respect you have for...
Read moreMy wife and I were turned away at the door prior to the marked closing time because the worker felt like closing early, so he could go home early. This laziness and selfishness wasted my time: 1/5 service.
As a worker, your store's marked closing time represents the time you stop service, not the time you walk out the door. If you want to go home at 7:30, then you should stop service and start cleaning up at 6:30, and your posted closing time should be 6:30.
Edit: the owner replied to this saying I came at 7:18. Even if I did, the point stands. You cleaned and cleared out the restaurant before your marked closing time. You're objectively wrong, but instead of apologizing here, you admit that you were wrong and double down? I would also say you weren't especially polite--you curtly turned us away. But you're also a liar; we arrived at 7:15, which is plenty of time to fill a to go order for a place with "Express" in its name. You didn't just close when we showed up either-- the whole place was freshly cleaned and the gyro was off the rack--you started closing down well before 7, so don't pretend this is a matter of minutes. Your attitude of callous disrespect for your customers is...
