I’m so sad I really wanted to be over the moon about my service I received from this business especially since I saw so many raving reviews on tik tok.. I will say that overall it was a cool experience and my hair looks and feels amazing that’s why they’re getting two stars. The person who did my service was Tammi. I will say I was 4 minutes late to my appointment due to lovely Bellevue traffic. I felt horrible and made sure they knew how sorry I was and that I would leave a tip no matter what for unintentionally disrespecting their time. After that I felt like Tammi maybe was frustrated by my tardiness which I understood but her frustration made me anxious the whole time so I couldn’t relax.. again partially my fault.. I scheduled their hair treatment and the Mother’s Day mini facial. I guess I misunderstood their promotion and the free mini facial was only on Mother’s Day. The manager I assume felt bad I misunderstood and said to give it to me anyways. I thought that was so kind. However the mini facial was a $3 face mask and wiping my face with water after. I wouldn’t call that a facial lol. Tammi is very aggressive in her massage technique. When washing my hair she was kind of hitting my head? Not hard but enough to jolt me which was killing my back. And she pushed so hard on my neck and shoulders that I was wincing but she never stopped. I know people will probably say you should have spoken up but this lady didn’t speak any English and I had a mask on so I couldn’t see anyone around to ask for help.. also if you’re plus size the “shirt” they give you is tiny. If I hadn’t lost 30 pounds recently I wouldn’t have fit into it.. I am a mother of two and I broke my back three months ago so this is the first nice thing I’ve done for myself in quite sometime, and really we couldn’t afford it because I’m out of work now. My sweet husband bought this for me for Mother’s Day and I left crying.. I woke up this morning with my neck and shoulders killing me from my massage. I think the company overall is probably great but my experience...
Read moreWe want to start by saying we mean no disrespect to the staff at Ocean View Relax Center — they were actually very kind to us during our visit. However, the experience as a whole just didn’t meet our expectations after seeing the viral TikTok videos.
It’s clear they are overwhelmed with the surge in business from the online attention, and we can completely understand how challenging that must be. To be fair, we did visit on a weekend, so perhaps the experience is different on a quieter weekday — but when we went, everything felt rushed and chaotic.
The space is extremely small, and the staff seemed frantic trying to shuffle people in and out. We were a party of three, and there was already a couple receiving their treatment — but with all the back-and-forth, talking, and grabbing supplies, the atmosphere was anything but calm and relaxing.
Once we were set up, the service itself felt inconsistent. My mom, sister, and I all had very different experiences — kind of like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. My mom found the treatment too rough for her sensitive scalp, while my sister and I felt the pressure was too light. A simple question like “What’s your scalp sensitivity?” would have made a big difference. There was also very little communication overall, likely due to a language barrier, which made the process feel confusing.
Our biggest concern, though, is the products they used. The floral scent was overwhelming, and we all felt like our hair was left dry rather than nourished. My sister, who has thicker, curlier hair, even felt like her hair was damaged by the products. We ended up going home and immediately doing deep conditioning treatments to try to restore moisture.
Ultimately, we think the staff would really benefit from not overbooking and giving themselves more time to ask questions, understand hair types, and explain the products they are using. With a little more care and communication, the experience could be so much better — but right now, it feels like they’re prioritizing speed...
Read moreThis place is a bit hidden, but thanks to TikTok, it’s getting all the exposure it deserves. The head spa service was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
That being said, there were a few setbacks that impacted our overall experience. During check in, we were asked to sit and wait. After some time, another staff member led us to the back to begin the head spa. About 10-15 minutes into our service, we were unexpectedly interrupted and told that our body massages were supposed to come first. This meant we had to get up mid-service and switch rooms. The front desk staff made me feel as if it our mistake for not knowing the order of services, though we were never properly informed.
Another concern was the atmosphere during the body massages. There was more conversation among the staff than I had anticipated, making it difficult to fully relax. With both the head spa interruption and the talkative environment, it was challenging to fully immerse myself in a peaceful state. I had hoped for more attentiveness to maintaining a quiet and calming experience.
The head spa truly redeemed the visit. The staff handling that service were incredibly considerate, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere that brought me back to my zen. It was absolutely worth the initial challenges.
This place has the potential to be a 5-star experience with just a few improvements in communication and overall ambiance. I’d still recommend it, especially for...
